GREETINGS TROOPERS!
With the future of First Strike very much still up in the air due to the latest developments regarding cessation of server services from GameSpy, and EA concluding their support for BF2142, which means the end of the Master Server required to acquire multiplayer server browser access. We have decided to throw an event for what could very well be your last chance to experience First Strike as a full multiplayer game due to these services coming to an end at the end of June.
So we are pleased to bring you the First Strike: Blastfest event. This will take place this weekend and be played on both Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8pm BST (British Summer Time), and with it we hope to encourage enough numbers on to have one last hurrah before they close up shop. With good numbers we'll perhaps mix up co-op with our conquest maps so you can get the full spectrum of the maps available within First Strike. So head on this weekend for some great games. Also feel free to bob on for games any time this week, pop on our forums to inform people you intend to play and maybe we'll get some unscheduled games going too.
This does not necessarily mean the end of First Strike, but even if we do decide to look at solutions to circumvent the current issues facing all mods based on BF games no longer supported by EA, it will be a while before these solutions surface. Whatever we decide to do we will keep you guys informed.
But before we worry about that future, lets just get on this weekend and have some cracking games of First Strike.

A shame there weren't more people on last night, I'd have expected better numbers than what we apparently got. Hopefully we can better that turnout tonight, I'll be on later, so see you in about 2 hours.
Dismal turnout to this the other weekend, but EA Master Server seems to still be up at the moment, might have to try this again. Give people more notice, and hope the server doesn't go down before the event.
