Beta Aesthetics – project, which main goal is bring the part of Far Cry’s pre-release content into vanilla game. The main idea is to combine beta stuff with vanilla’s one, retain the feel and atmosphere of the original game, and add something from beta to it as well.

Maybe you didn't noticed (and that's a good thing - it means I managed to keep the original idea), but a tremendous amount of work has been done on this location. To be honest, everything in this bunker didn't look the same to me, so I decided to choose the most radical method - to make everything from scratch. Literally.

In order to tidy up this place somehow, I had to get rid of all the decals in this bunker (and there were a lot of them, believe me), and then start the main work.
The whole bunker was "redesigned", each object was assigned a more correct material, a kind of "color correction" was done, textures were changed somewhere for a better look, etc.
Then I re-started working with the decals - I made the place appear still as abandoned, but without the visual noise as it was in the original. And that was probably the most time-intensive job. Nevertheless, it also got the job done.
Then I started working with the lighting. According to the idea, my version of the level represents the early morning (not noon, as in the original), so the bunker had to reflect that too. But I didn't want to make it too dark, so I decided to design it in some sort of dark blue tones, not too dark, but not light as daytime either.

Then I started to "polish" my work - somewhere I added additional details, effects. I also changed the cutscenes - the start cutscene I redid completely, and in the scene of the first meeting with Crowe I added a bit more emotion to the mercenary, so he looks a bit more alive, lol.
The falling rocks scene also went under the knife - I redid it completely so that it actually looks like a huge pile of rocks falling, rather than...well, you get the idea.
And a bunch of other little things I don't remember myself anymore, but you might notice.

That's it? You can think of it as a kind of dev-blog :)
Ah yes, at the end of the video small bugs with game rendering - will also be fixed after BA move to FCAV base.
