This is my first mod and is based on the universe of EvE Online and gives the player the oppurtunity to conquer the Eve universe commanding fleets of ships from the 4 major factions. You'll pick one of the major factions to play as and be able to unlock the other factions ships as you progress and conquer the relevant planets so you'll be able to have fleets of all your favourite eve online ships. This is a space only mod so there will be no land combat. I must thank CCP the creators of eve online for allowing use of their models in this mod, all models and associated ideas pertaining to EvE online are the property of CCP

Right, well as you may of noticed nothing really been updated or done on the mod in months, time have now changed. reason nothing got done is i took a break from modding before Christmas and since Christmas I'd been working on other projects but finally decided its about time to kick start eve again and actaully do something with the mod to make it decent.

Right, well as you may of noticed nothing really been updated or done on the mod in months, time have now changed. Reason nothing got done is I took a break from modding before Christmas and since Christmas I'd been working on other projects but finally decided its about time to kick start eve again and actaully do something with the mod to make it decent.
To start with the mod is getting an overhaul. Now before all i'd done was really replace the ships with ones from the eve universe which all said and done was ok, but nothing really special. Also what it meant was end game was all about the big ships... frigates etc.. got left behind for bigger and better ships, which in my mind was wrong all ships needed a role.... and THAT's what their getting.

The ships are going to be broken down into the respective groups, and then each ship in that class will have a role. For example, EAW has corvettes, frigates capitals and supers... when it comes to classes.
so for Eve ships the frigates and destroyers will be placed into the corvette class and in that class you will have :-
Anti corvette Light
Anti Corvette Heavy
Anti Frigate
Anti Capital
Anti fighter
Anti Shield
Support Craft

so what this means is that you cant just spam using 1 ship type you'll need a mix to win, as the anti corvettes will be fine against a corvette class but will do next to no damage against a frigate or capital ship. But what you'll then find is the anti capital class corvette wont be able to hit a corvette class ship as its weapons are not able to track the fast moving corvettes...
What this means is that when you do get access to battleships you'll still need the smaller ships to help support them, as you could find a small corvette taking down a battleship as its too quick for the battleship to track it but will have firepower to do some damage.
Now in terms of weapons all the ships WILL have their racial weaponary i've been working on projectiles for each race, however the amarr ships WILL NOT have beam weapons. unfortunately I can't get the engine to quite make the beam realistic enough, so they will have a more traditional pulse laser.

Now the last thing i've been looking at in terms of the roles of the ships is the scaling and such. now eve is great for the vast ships, however to make it playable i've decided to downscale the bigger ships. The biggest ship is going to be battleship size, similar sizing to the amarr armageddon currently in the beta. I feel anything bigger fills the screen too much and makes it hard to see whats going on. Now this will effect the carriers more than anything just so they fall in line with sizing. I have decided at the moment to chop the dreadnaughts as there too big for my liking but may re add them at a later stage, though want to get the balancing right firstly with all the other ships.

Right now i'm working on the caldari faction finishing re-rigging the ships for the extra hardpoints and then will be getting them coded in into the new roles. Once their in i'll then go back and adjust the amarr and gallente faction to get them into the roles.

One final think is the strategic cruisers will be making an appearance.... but more of that nearer the time.

Yeah, I've been really wanting to play this mod. I'm happy to hear it will finally get worked on. Keep up the good work.

awesome! Im glad it's alive again =) as for beam weaps, use a long rektangle or cylinder projectile, with very high speed and rate of fire, low dmg so the dps is balanced.. for ovious reasons make accuarcy absolute, and make it so it cant target fighters/bombers...
