Eternal Silence is starting to post news again. This week we are going over some of the new features to premiere in the next beta. Includes a teaser screenshot of es_aethra. More news will be posted weekly.

This is the kickoff of some great news that we'll be bringing to you
weekly. 3.0 is taking serious shape. Intense beta testing during the
past 4 month has allowed us to make amazing progress on gameplay and
content. I'll open up by mentioning a few flagship features we've been
testing that will be debuting in our next release... and a little
teaser screenshot of es_aethra with some new stuff shown.


True capital ship battles
No longer will you be wondering why on earth two behemoth ships are
parked next to each other in deep space without as much as a peep
coming from those big guns. We're talking big guns, shields and even
corvettes to escort them around.

Interior impact effects
Hulls will rumble, computers will spark and sometimes things will
explode when the capital ships open fire on an unprotected prey. We're
connecting the outdoors to the indoors in a very major way, and every
impact from a railgun, every photon from a beam cannon and charge from
a missile will be felt indoors, exactly where it was hit and with
appropriate effects.

Objective Gameplay We've adjusted
the core gameplay a lot over the past months through extensive testing.
We've tightened up all the loose screws with a new type of objective
gameplay, splitting scenarios into distinct attack/defend rounds. No
longer will you land on a ship, wondering where the enemy marines went,
they'll be waiting right there for you.

Combine this with 2 new
ship classes, 5 new ships total and a redesigned interface and 3.0 will
be the biggest update to Eternal Silence yet. This is just the
beginning, check back next week.
