Upcoming Maps
Several new redux bf2 maps are in the works, and a couple are almost ready to be released.
I'm also working on three old third party maps, and giving them the DUST 'makeover'.
Sharqi Peninsula
As with my other redux BF2 maps, Sharqi will feature a complete visual facelift and three new single player specific layouts.
Sharqi will be available for download later this week.
Shahr Urmia
This has been a long term project, a complete remake of Highway Tampa, a perfect map for large scale combined arms operations.
Virtual pilots will be able to fly CAS missions over the desert of Shahr Urmia, aided by the amazing new flight dynamics and cockpit views developed by my friend Choleric_Cleric (these will be available with the upcoming version 3.1 of DUST).
And for ground troops this map is now better than ever thanks to Minor_Kemp's fantastic new navmesh.
1. Custom vegetation near the river.
2. Dust storms will make long range identification and targeting more challenging.
3. 'Trekking' in the T90 on Shahr Urmia.
4. New de-cluttered airfield layout to facilitate rearming and repairing.
Introducing the SU25 Skorpion
Alongside Shahr Urmia, a new aircraft is in development: the SU25 Skorpion. This is based on the model ported from BF4 by Emaozipujing, and will feature a new HD cockpit, cockpit views selectable with the hat switch if you fly with a joystick, pilot and instrument reflections in the canopy and HUD, ground taxiing, and a lovely new flight model by C_C. This one really is a joy to fly and I've been having a blast with it.
WIP images of the new SU25 cockpit.
1. New HUD computer
2. New MFD
3. Cockpit view looking forward
4. Cockpit view looking right.
5. Cockpit view looking right rearward.
These views are really useful for CAS pilots in helping to maintain situational awareness and visual contact with ground targets.
That's all for today my friends. Remember, if you have any questions about DUST feel free to ask.
Gattobuono. 😀
cool!!
The fact alone that you invest a lot of time in producing your own content like overworking whole maps with its vegitation,
lightmaps, textures etc. and much more by yourself and porting them into your own project instead of irrevocably damaging your ctrl,c,v keys
alone makes your project a unique thing these days.
Really great work, keep it going and please continue to publish the people your great content in the future!
Thanks and cheers buddy :)
"instead of irrevocably damaging your ctrl,c,v keys" 🤣
Thanks for making me laugh, that sums up 90% of BF2 mods these days.
And I really appreciate your kind works, especially as I admire the excellent work that you're doing with your own mod.
Have a nice day! :-)
