We apologize for the lack of media in this release, but exams have hit us all hard. However, as work on the modeling and mapping slowed down a bit, behind-the-scenes work and planning picked up.
Before continuing onward with the media release, we are pleased to announce the following:
- The first release of DED will include a manual that will have, among other things, tips, hints, and backstories. The release will be in .pdf format and will be made possible to be printed, as well. DrZais and I have been hard at work on this feature.
- We are exceptionally pleased to announce that Edgen has accepted our request and will be composing menu music, theme music, and a few various other pieces for the mod. Edgen is an amazing composer who we fully trust with having compose music for Dulce Et Decorum.
- We are still looking for coders, animators, mappers, modelers, skinners, and anything else. If interested, please email me with examples of work and what job you'd like.
And now, on with the show!
Any questions or comments can be left in the "comments" section of this media release or, preferably, posted on our Forums. Thank you for your interest in Dulce Et Decorum!

Looks awesome. Good work. I like the missile launcher. :)
yea, i thought it came out nicely, glad dan posted it in this release
The first weapon LOOKS like an MP5-series, but the clip is far too thick for 9mm ammo...
The Punks improvise. One has to understand that Punk weapons are weapons that are only BASED on modern-day (era: 2005) weapons. They are adapted from the initial 2005 designs but are not exact designs.
like dan said, but since i designed the weapons heres the detail:
basically it is a reversed engineered MP5SD, but chambered for 5.56mm ammo. while obviously this would be impossible to silence to the level of the MP5SD i decided to pretend otherwise for the sake of balance, since one of the other sides silenced automatic weapon also uses 5.56mm ammunition.
Ah, I see. Was not trying to say "OMFG UR MP5 IS TEH SUK", just wondering if the size of the magazine was intentional or not. :) Thanks for the quick clarification. :)
No, no, I knew you weren't being a n00b, don't worry ;). I just wanted to clarify and answer your question. If I thought you were being a n00b, I would've been sarcastic and mean and you probably would've replied here and sworn at me.
Thanks for your feedback and let us know if you've any more questions!
Sworn at you? Bah, I never take myself too seriously. :)
wow if you hadn't pre designed the MP5 to look like that I would've said something.
Looks greay, I just wouldnt call it an MP6, what about an MP6/MP8/MP9 or something? MP5 makes you think of the real gun, of which that is not :)
'punk mp5' is really just a working title, it is a very diffrent gun. from the original
the thing about DED is there isnt any intention to recreate any guns realistically, but rather to have some fun with them, hence the rather weird looking MP5 design (not one of my personal favourites but oh well). As i hope you'll see from our further releases (and our website) nothing in the mod is going to be quite what it seems.
I like the SD20, but that's because I love the NMO! Heil!
