As the first tourney of the year, it felt fitting that I would start with a version close to the original Heroes V.
The semi-vanilla duel map was created to introduce a healthy dose of balance while keeping the flavour and feel of the game as close to the original as possible. Simple and easy to understand tweaks, no skillwheel changes, nor hard-coded changes. Additionally, this map can serve as a global balance mod. By having it in the Maps folder, you can apply its balance changes to other maps or campaigns.
If you have participated in one of my tourneys before, you know the drill.
If you're new, welcome aboard :) This is a friendly tourney to bring the community closer and as such, you will find players of any level. As long as you enjoy playing Heroes V, you're welcome to join. And if you have not played online before, I can help you get started.
As a duel map, the game span is short. You spend one day to prepare your hero and buy army, then you meet your opponent on the battlefield for a glorious battle! Each round lasts one week and you have to play 3 games with your opponent which should not take much of your time. Then you make a report and move to the next phase next week.
To avoid early eliminations, if you lose one round, you drop to the second bracket and have an extra chance. The winners of the first and second bracket will be recorded on the future map version!
