RUNELORE
- Each Rune tier uses the same resource. Originally two different tiers could compete with each other, like Rune of Battlerage and Etherealness both using crystal.
- The hero has limited resources and no access to Fine Rune to avoid numerous rune activations.
- Refresh Rune now consumes 30% Atb instead of 100%.
- Rune of Magic Control has a chance to copy enemy buffs instead of steal them (atm removed until it can no longer copy Regeneration that is now on par with Resurrection)
- Rune of Etherealness always causes the first attack to miss, then alternates between hit and miss.
- Rune of Thunderclap stuns for half Atb instead of full.
- Rune of Dragonform gives +10 attack and +15 defence instead of doubling a unit's base stats. This made it next to useless for low tiers but ridiculous for high tiers. It now also works for dragons!
- Rune of Revival is guaranteed but has less activations. Also it revives 25% of the full stack instead of 40% of the fallen units. That way it can be used effectively early but it also will not raise almost half of the stack after a single unit survives with last stand.
SKILLS
- Destructive does not rely on raw spellpower like Dungeon but Dwarven Fire spells have +20% damage bonus. Mark of Fire can additionally increase your fire damage by 50% and triggers more reliably. However Armageddon is not available as it was fairly broken. Also..
- Sorcery is more common, with the option between Swift Mind/Refined Mana or Distract/Tap Runes.
- Warlock's Luck is also common in Luck.
- Summoning is more viable. Runic Armour gets +10 spellpower bonus instead of +4 and the Conjuration spell summons Valkyries that have Ranged Protection, Aura of Bravery II plus higher stats than most summons. Firewall has +20% damage bonus.
- Warmachines have received a little boost. They unlock Runic Machines (+4 Initiative) in Runelore - allowing you to also pick tent - but the Fortress ballista also gets +4 attack.
- Leadership is an option between Empathy and Retribution. The latter also includes Runic Attunement that can raise your morale above 3 and further boost Retribution.
LINEUP
- Mountain Guards lose Prepared Position but gain Shield Wall. They remain a bit slower than Shield Guards but gain +1 min damage and keep their immunity to displacement.
- Skirmishers wound special triggers more often but penalises enemy speed/initiative less.
- Whitebear fear halves enemy Atb instead of reset to 0 and they also gain Armoured like Blackbears.
- Berserkers gain +3 attack/defence plus +1 min damage.
- Brawler 3rd alt added! They keep Giant Slayer from Battleragers but also get Bravery III and bypass 25% of enemy defence.
- Priests get Fire Protection instead of Immunity and their Mark triggers 2.5 times more often but gives 50% bonus instead of 100%.
- Rune Priest 3rd alt added! They have the Patriarch's Crossfire plus Warding shot that allows for multiple stuns. They can also cast Deflect Arrows and Stone Spikes.
- Thane upgrades have reduced Hp to make up for their overwhelming presence.
- Thane 3rd alt added! Inspired by Thor, their mighty hammers can cause a 2x2 Crushing Blow and can also stun - The catch is that they can harm allies too! They also are 1 speed short of reaching the other side on their first turn.
- Dragons have reduced damage and hp to make up for their monstrous stats. Rune of Drafonform now also works on them.
- Magma Dragons have improved Magma Shield to 50% and Lava Dragons have improved Liquid Flame at 15 damage. Their Firebreath is fixed and will correctly harm allies that stand in the way!
