Draconian Empire is a total conversion mod for the game Homeworld 2, wich updates the graphics engine (shaders, effects, models, etc) and adds three new races with each their own new weapons, subsystems and sounds. It also features a brand new Singleplayer storyline telling the tale of humanity in their early days of space-travel, their encounter with the draconians and finally the birth of the Hiigaran people. A sequel to the Homeworld story, this mod's exciting new single-player campaign follows humanity from its early days of space-travel, where they eventually come in contact with the Draconians all the way to the finding of the second Hyperspace Core by the pre-Hiigaran people.

!!SOLVED!! As you all know we are working hard on this mod, however, this being our first (total-conversion) mod for HW2 a lot of things are yet to be explored. And thus mayhem occured along the way :P

EDIT: THE CINEMATIC PROBLEM IS SOLVED: the file-formatting of my campaign .lua file was corrupted somehow :/
EDIT2: THE BUILD PROBLEM IS SOLVED: HW2 automatically sets the player's race to 1, regardless of the level .lua files. You can change wich race is nr. 1 by putting that race as 1th on the race.lua file list.

So we ran in two problems that need to be solved before we can continue on the singleplayer-campaign:

1. Build menu lacks a lot of subsystems/ships
The Hiigaran and Vaygr races have been replaced by respectively the Draconian and Human races, each with their new suffixes. All the .lua files (Race, Familylist, build/research, the ship/subsystem files) have been written under these new suffixes, however, some ships/subsystems dont appear to be buildable ingame.

2. Adding cinematics makes the singleplayer mission crash (SOLVED!):
So we have made the intro cinematic for the singleplayer campaign: however: after the cinematic is done playing the mission starts... and ends right away, stating: end of campaign. But if we remove the cinematic from the campaign .lua (Ascension.lua) then the mission works properly.

I have already browsed KarosGraveyard and several forums for these but can't find a solution. So if anyone can help: we love you! haha

Keep y'all posted,

Jeroen from Evil Turtle Productions

on the Module issue try asking around over on the Complex mods' forum, they should have a idea as to whats wrong...

Might even be able to point you towards a fix for the second one as well...

I have to agree with Railgunner2160, try asking some of the more experienced Homeworld 2 modders.

There are a lot of mods for Homeworld 2 and some of them have been in development for a lot of years like Complex, so there are a lot of veterans modders that probably already encountered and solved the problems that you have.

yeah i agree too, however, most mods are multiplayer oriented and thus i already have found some things for the build-menu problem.

The cinematics however is hard to find, but i'll ask around :3

Could always try asking the guys behind the Battlestar mod as well. They seem to have the cinematics working properly in their mod.
