Dominion Impossible game-mode Only — It is more than recommended that this download be supplemented with ≥1 of the other maps posted on the Dominion Impossible mod page or available on Steam® workshop. The Dominion Impossible full release also contains a map: dni_dominion_r1, which supplements this patch nicely – see install instructions in description.
To install this mod, extract the downloaded dominionimpossible.zip to the Garry's Mod gamemodes folder. By default, this is…
in Windows™: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\gamemodes
in Linux: /home/zroytz/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/gamemodes
…using 32-bit Windows™? Replace “Program Files (x86)” with “Program Files”. …Linux username is ¬ zroytz? Replace “zroytz” with your own username. …using a different Linux distribution than Debian? “debian-installation” may need to be replaced with something else.
Already have the Dominion Impossible full release installed? Remove its “gamemodes” folder to prevent conflict with the new version. That is, …
In Windows™, remove C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons\DominionImpossible\gamemodes
In Linux, remove /home/zroytz/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/addons/DominionImpossible/gamemodes
Since the full release of Dominion Impossible, this has changed:
•Victory by elimination is fixed: By default, a team can win by capturing all bases & eliminating all enemy players.
•no fortification acquisition now works: When fortification acquisition is disabled (not default), bases now successfully strip all fortifications — even the previous team's spawn points — upon capture by the enemy.
•Base screens have been re-textured: A ✓ indicates a base in good condition; an × indicates a base being captured; a ⚠ indicates a base under distress (i.e., shield is down, turret has been hit); & a ⟳-like symbol indicates an unfortified base that is being fortified.
•Base screens now use unlitgeneric shader: The decal shader previously used randomly flickered & became transparent in Windows™; didn't exist in Linux.
•Unnecessary game mode related downloads have been removed.
•The game mode init.lua no longer adds downloads for default map dni_dominion_r1; a separate dni_dominion_r1.lua is included for that purpose. When hosting dni_dominion_r1 among clients that may ¬ have its dependencies, type “lua_openscript dni_dominion_r1.lua” in the console to add necessary downloads. Otherwise, Dominion Impossible doesn't need these downloads when used with other maps.
•Minor dni_bot adjustments. They still aren't very good, however.
•dni_turret targeting has been modified.
