Dodgeball:Source is a Full Conversion Mod based on the Source Engine. Touting a unique blend of Sports, FPS, and Arcade style gameplay, Dodgeball:Source is able to entertain a wide varitey of gamers. Dodgeball:Source is based around the popular playground/ gymn game that we grew up playing. Players enter a number of outrageously interesting environments to compete in a Dodgeball match as never seen before. Some of these environments include a skeeball arena, the top of 2 skyscrapers, a sci-fi hangar, and a school gymn. With 4 different game modes, powerups, ball variations, and a buy menu, there is never a dull moment. Dodgeball:Source also puts the engine to work by maximizing the dynamic gameplay created through use of the Havok physics engine. Ballers, The servers are back up and many people are playing. We are still ironing out some bugs from the previous update and will have them resolved by Alpha 6.

Alpha 6 is on schedule for release Friday October the 7th. This release promises to be one of our biggest yet! Here are some things that are slated for the upcoming Alpha 6 release of Dodgeball!

"Powerup Style" Dodgeballs. These are Dodgeballs that have special characteristics that affect gameplay. We have been receiving requests for these for the past few months and have had them in the works for a long time. Here are a few that are expected to make this release:
"Slime Ball": This is a ball that appears slimey (almost like swamp sludge) and when it hits the ground or a player, it causes a splash of a slimey substance that slows down all that come in contact with it.
"Fire Ball": The fireball is pretty self explanitory. The ball shoots flames as it rolls on the ground leaving a trail of fire. It also burns all players it comes in contact with.
"Nuke Ball": The nuke ball causes a large explosion killing the entire team if it makes contact with a player. If it does not make contact, it kills everyone on the team with the player that threw the nuke.
"Cluster Ball": The cluster ball throws multiple balls at once making the other team easier to hit.

A new powerup menu and EXP point system will be introduced into Alpha 6. This will add a new type of gameplay and reward the players that have more skill and are able to contribute more to their team.

The official maps have also had a large revision and are better and more fun than ever. We have had time to revise many of the bugs and small problems that were found with some of the maps. A new official map will also be introduced into Alpha 6. The title of the map is db_hangar. This map was designed for 32 player Dodgeball matches and we are excited to try it out with a large number of players.

The developers of Dodgeball:Source have also announced the formation of a new game dev studio. The name of the studio is UrbanLegend Games and the website can be found here: Urbanlegendgames.com. As previously mentioned, the team that is developing Dodgeball: Source will be releasing another mod very soon. This title of the mod is Subterfuge. UrbanLegend Games is also involved with a retail project that is just getting under way. Check out the UrbanLegend Games website for more information on all of these exciting upcoming titles.
