Presenting a massive adventure based on real events and evidence from JG54 and other luftwaffe veterans, documents, features, and essential details to bring back the struggling chronicles of the fighter wing 54 of the Luftwaffe across its infamous crusade in Europe. The real essence behind this project is to portray the staggering stories of these pilots, which, unfortunately for them, were not just aerial combats with an inferiority of 20:1.

With the green heart of Thuringen marked below the cockpit, the aces of JG54 won the respect of allied, soviet, and other Luftwaffe squadrons from their very first fight on the white cliffs of Dover until the end of the conflict. Their skills, comeradery, flight experience and organisational skills ensured that the -Green hearted hunters- could present a real risk for the enemy troops even when the germans were in dramatic inferiority against the enemy. With honour and respect, the Grünherz positioned themselves as the second most successful fighter wing in history, second to the JG52, which indeed contained many pilots transfered from JG54.

Top aces like Wehrner Moelders, Johannes Steinhoff, Hans Ekkehard Bob, Robert Weiss, etc were integrated in the 54th and most of them rejected the Nazi Ideals, limiting themselves to fight for their country. No pilot of JG54 was ever condemned for Nazi crimes, and the legacy of their techniques is present even in today's fighter regiments.

(www.jg54.org) Well over a dozen years ago, JG54 was re-founded as a historical recreator and virtual flight squadron on many platforms, and with skilled aces, related to the Luftwaffe, has once again achieved reputation worldwide on simulators like the IL2 saga. Today, some members are devloping projects like this to ensure that the people behind their screens actually know the struggle that brave pilots had to deal with, boh in the air and on the ground.
