The Hell is concentrated on getting rid of all the initial bugs of Diablo 1, it raises challenge, gives much more variety (monsters, items, spells, boss monsters, unique items, item & environment colors), improves overall difficulty balance of the game, improves monster AI, introduces new character classes, increases replay value and gives full support for Multiplayer experience. It is fully functional, has many bugs of original game fixed, is running smooth, stable, and is much better than original game. The amount of changes is tremendous, part of them are available in Changelog file inside the game archive.
Early access version of The Hell 2 mod. The Hell 2 is a next generation mod after The Hell. It's in active development. New content is being added, new gameplay features implemented. A lot of changes happening at this phase, it's shaping into a mod with tons of improvements. For now, there is no (real) stability from one release to another. Items will morph, other things - too. I don't recommend playing too seriously, because you will probably lose your progress or items when you update to a next release, each time. Stability will be achieved when v1.00 is released.
