The Hell is concentrated on getting rid of all the initial bugs of Diablo 1, it raises challenge, gives much more variety (monsters, items, spells, boss monsters, unique items, item & environment colors), improves overall difficulty balance of the game, improves monster AI, introduces new character classes, increases replay value and gives full support for Multiplayer experience. It is fully functional, has many bugs of original game fixed, is running smooth, stable, and is much better than original game. The amount of changes is tremendous, part of them are available in Changelog file inside the game archive.

After all these years of continuous development, it's hard not to think that this is in fact the best Diablo mod ever to be made.
And, surprisingly, it still has a lot to offer.

I finally downloaded it! Including the Music Expansion of course. I installed it into my Hellfire's root folder and everything went well. Then I turned on the game (It was on WIN7 so I had to use the color fixes) and I hear a nice new music. The picture on the menu also was good! Ok, I went to start a new game. I took Gladiator since he was new in this mod. It would be better if he would have completely new look. I played the game and it was fantastic! No bugs, No errors, no nothing! Bugfixes, the darkened atmosphere of the game, new objects, armor, weapons and that feeling that you are never safe! That's what's Diablo should have in the first place! And that's why this mod receives 10!

This mod is THE BEST mod for Diablo 1. Makes the atmosphere more of what is could've been in 1996. Balenced difficulty, bug fixes, it has it all! You gotta try it out if you haven't!

So far the best Diablo mod, keeps the original feeling, with stuffed millions of new content. If you want challenge, this mod will keep you playing for good. Pretty sad the development looks to be over, Mordor left the team.

Good mod, but Cursed Blade quest is retarded. Hellforge is just terribly designed.

played the hell.
was avid fan of diablo 1, and not 2 or 3.
the art direction fits with the original, the music is great.

there was a problem with opening up all *shortcuts to town, and i was able to go to multiple places without actually discovering them from the labirinth first (towards the end)
this made it a bit hard understanding the dificulty if each area, for the first playthrough.

also i disagree with the term Uberdiablo. i dont think it helps immersion. a different model or at least name should be used. perhaps first one is the prince, and the second .. ?!

to reiterate
my feedback after 1st run> menu has no animations and theres some corruption
> the shortcuts to town went all open around hell level
> the name and integration of uberdiablo into the plot. break immersion.
> i dislike the bossfights as a mean of not being able to approach the fight differently per their weaknesses. defiler = diablo = uberdiablo . spells dont do much. > just use golem and fight through it
> there were removed unique items from some quests, like amulet of blind or cleaver or leoric crown which made me a bit sad

thanks for your effort. i patroned it

really cool diablo mod maybe its best!

Extremely nice mod for Diablo 1!
