Is there any ideas as to why Win 10 likes BlackBox a lot less than Win 7?
Yes! Because XNA and SunBurn, SD's game engine, are ancient and crappy.
BUT! we have a partial solution.
by disabling shadows XNA will barf less and so you should be able to eek out a little more life from the game.
this is now the default for all new builds.

Latest Test build, develop_7598, has potential out of memory fixes for win10. This is just a change to the .net memory management type. Switching from server to desktop garbage collection

Just downloaded the newest patch 10412, starting a new playthrough. Let's see how it goes :)
