February Press Release: “Death From Above!”

Yet another month has gone by for the DH team and we are still working hard to bring you what we hope will be a fantastic representation of the Normandy Theater in the Second World War. Firstly however the Darkest Hour Team wishes to congratulate Sandstorm Productions and the Carpathian Crosses Development team who will be releasing their mods (Mare Nostrum & Carpathian Crosses) in March and April respectively. We wish them successful launches and hope that the community appreciates the hard work and dedication that the teams have put into bring you what we are sure will enhance RO's already excellent game play.

This month's update from DH however finally features some of the British Commonwealth content that I know many of you have been longing for. We are showing these pieces this month however I can assure you that the remainder of the British weapons and vehicles are already well into production. The first item this month then is the Lee Enfield No.4 Rifle, modeled by Garriason & Tman and textured by Aeneas2020 this rifle is widely regarded as one of the most accurate and durable service rifles ever produced. Although bolt action the No.4 was renowned for its rapid rate of fire and its deadliness in the hands of a skilled soldier. We hope to bring you some shots of the No.4 in game in for the next press release.

The second piece of British content we have this month is the British Parachute Regiment Player model. This model was constructed by a group of people with Nights 2006 & Tman working on the body and detailing while Andrei313 kindly allowed us to use his British equipment model. The finished piece was textured by Aeneas2020. The “Paras” come in a few different variants ranging from headgear swaps to blackened faces for night engagements. As you can see thanks to the magic workings of our Coding/Mapping duo Exocet and Fennich the “Paras” are already in game and causing havoc on our Benouville Bridge map.

The last piece of content we are proud to bring you this month is again the result of Exocet and Fennich's hard work. The M3 Halftrack is now providing the US and British infantry with some much needed rest on the larger maps ferrying them to and from flashpoints and providing close support with a mounted MG.

Finally as stated last month we do have some news in regards to Darkest Hour's release. Unfortunately we are still not going to give you a release date other than to say it won't be long after the two mods releasing over the next few weeks. What we are including this month is a list of what you can expect from Darkest Hour release 1 including content and features (Note this list is not final and may be added to).
