Cursed Land is a new map pack for Chasm: The Rift, containing 4 brand new levels. Explore a castle overrun with enemies, an abandoned mine that's seen better days, survive a village where the locals have turned, and make your way onto a Timestriker ship. This map pack pushes Chasm further than the base game with more open areas to face your enemies, and plenty of opportunities to use the more creative weapons that make up your arsenal. Choose between the Portable or Collection Chamber release, depending on which version you have. This will make installing much easier. Alternatively, you can download a version tailored specifically for PanzerChasm. Some problems may still arise, but most of the issues that can be ironed out, have been!

Properly accommodates circle strafing, monster infighting and has been ported to every version of Chasm there is. What's not to love?

Four new various levels. Locations are interesting and expressive, looking like places that have a purpose, not like a set of mazes, mostly are easy to navigate without using the map.

Interesting puzzles are challenging enough, but not too hard, their appearance and text messages retain the feel of original game.

Many trees on the first level create a feel of being in the forest, similar to first level of the official add-on.

The mod allows you to take the most out of Chasm's battle system by avoiding a level design sin of original game: too cramped spaces. Each battle is in the big area, with enough space to maneuver and take advantage of monster infighting.

Difficulty builds up slowly, first by adding enemies with crossbows that can easily hit you even in the biggest arenas, and then hitscanners who only appear on the fourth level.

There are also enemies from different episodes working together to form never before seen encounters.

The boss fight is a nice culmination of the whole pack, but there's one flaw with it: big monster can stand in front of the small door and prevent you from leaving the room. This could be fixed by adding some things you could jump on to leave through the window. For now you have to save before the boss fight and be quick, because he's likely to take some time punishing those who accidentally hit him.

Good to see a dedicated PanzerChasm version, allowing players to enjoy the experience with high screen resolution and frame rates. The readme says that there are still some issues even in such version, but only things I've noticed are z-fights here and there. Nothing serious. Then again, maybe it also means some content which isn't possible to include in the port, because it's known that PanzerChasm is not finished and misses some of the things the game has to offer.

Last few years I've stumbled upon screenshots of in-development Chasm mods here and there, but never any released content. Good to see this has finally changed, and with what mod - the one that allows to experience this shooter in all its glory, taking away the annoyance of dying due to being cornered in the smallest corridor possible.
