"Count" is a full conversion modification for Unreal Engine 3/UDK.
The idea of the mod is a dark battle between the villagers and the local vampire count.
It is a multiplayer mod where one of the players controls the count and the rest play various roles of the villagers.
The selling-points of the mod is the levels with creepy, gothic and dark atmosphere
combined with balanced gameplay and fun overall experience.

From the shadows...

News 2 comments

Hi everyone.
I know, I haven't updated this site for five months. I finally finished my military service 8th of January and I now have some free time to work on this project again.

Some changes have happened, UDK was released to public for free which made me change the developing platform from UE3 to UDK, so if the project comes ready some beautiful day, people can download it for free, thus not requiring a real copy of UT3.

Also, as I can't draw myself, I got a friend of mine to sketch out the characters for me. Those really help me in the modeling process.

So let me introduce first sketch, "The Lost One", drawn by J_:

the Lost One sketch

The Lost One

A chain whipping monster, he is one of the minions in the vampire's army.
Lost one is a tough character and slowest of all of the minions, but he can throw a chain which is wrapped around his body and left arm, and pull the villagers near him to bash and rip them to pieces.

I will upload sketches of other characters as soon as J_ draws them out, for you to see and c&c.
Thanks.

I am currently creating "Hunter" for the villagers team and "The Lost One" for the minion team as the first characters introduced. If you think some other character class should be the first one, suggest them and I might consider doing one of them first.

wow, this is so unique, and the weapon models are really intellectually designed (generously modeled) how did you came up with the idea?

Don't know if you're being sarcastic there, werewolves and vampires ain't really that unique ;) But yeah, I try to design the weapons with a little bit out of the ordinary touch. Getting my inspiration from steampunk and vampire movies, comics and other art.

Ok, posting some news later today for the current status of this project. I have some new sketches of the monsters, I got some help with those from a friend of mine. Also, I finished my military service, 8th of January, so I actually have some free time to continue this project once again. :)

Maybe you could make Gen-Modifed Vamps like in MGS4? =)
Unreal Engine could provide it

Sorry mate, as cool as it sounds, I'm going to stick with the medieval/gothic theme with this one. :) Altough, MGS ftw. :P
