ive take toro0 upscaled backrounds of resident evil rebirth. and rename them in corect name-order. follow istruction to have the pictures in hd all of the backrounds

how do I get these backgrounds to show up in-game?
create a folder name it mod_data and place it on the location that the main executable (Biohazard.exe)ddraw.dll and the other folders are located. inside mod_data extract the BG folder. in the place the bg folder is not inside cteate a new txt and name it manifest.
end put those lines in manifest.txt
[MOD]
Name =Resident Evil PC
Title =Resident Evil PC
Module =
SavePath = SaveData
JapaneseEnable = 0
and save it

I followed all the steps, but it didn't work for me. Were the textures created for the Japanese version only? (Biohazard.exe)
yes you need the japanese mediakite version. and the rebirth ddraw.dll

Hey! so i did everything and it pops up into mod selection and is called dev (PC) resident evil but whenever im in the game it doesn't work any way to help please?
Same for me, using ClassicRebirth on SourceNext, the mod is detected but doesn't appear in game. If this version is only for the japanese mediakite, I suggest the authro to modify it for the SourceNext ClassicRebirth by Gemini because with DirectX 9 and all the fixes, it's fantastic.

Same here, the mod is detected but the upscaled BG are not applied, any idea on how to solve it please?
Just tried this (checked up to Chris killing the zombie at the start when playing as Jill) and confirmed it is working. I have the "mod_data" folder which contains the "BG" folder and "manifest.txt" file in the same directory as the game exe, as you explained in the Readme. When I start the game, it says it detects the mod and selecting the second option ([DEV] Resident Evil) enables it. I personally renamed the mod within it's "manifest.txt" (changed name and Title value) just to make it less confusing to me when I select it.
From what I can tell, it's a nice little improvement to the backgrounds that fixes the color banding and graininess, but still keeps the low resolution. I saw there were AI upscaled backgrounds somewhere else, but it's subjective as to if they look good or not (personally not a big fan of them).
This does a good job of cleaning up the backgrounds without really changing the look of the game. Will try to post another comment after I do a full playthrough. Here are 2 examples.
