Well it shouldn't have any errors as it has been tested and works so probably something wrong with your game version.
what game version is recommended?
Obviously the latest game version, can't remember which number it is but just patch the game and try again.
Does it apply to every game you play?
I don't really know what you mean by that but the mod does work and who doesn't patch their games up to the latest version as that's what most people work with.
Check the mod out, don't know if it works with previous versions of superpower 2 but just patch it and then try again.
