Vancouver, BC - May 29, 2006 ? Let the Chase begin! Chase the Chicken, the wacky Unreal Tournament 2004 modification, is now out for your playing pleasure. Team Speed-Force Alpha would like to thank everyone that showed their interest in our offbeat mod and waited through our delays.
Players assume the role of a wily chicken named Chase who's recently escaped from the kitchen of a maniacal Chef! After a brief moment of freedom, the Chef and all manner of townsfolk are on to Chase's trail of tail-feathers - giving Chase the run of his life. His only chance is to find a bi-plane at the other end of town during a South American poultry festival! Are you chicken enough?
After you've downloaded and played our mod, we encourage you to contact us in any way and let us know what you think! Your feedback, good or bad (but we hope good), is the only reward that we get for embarking on this one-way ticket to crazytown (read: for making the mod).
Look for our upcoming developer Post Mortem on the gaming industry website Gamasutra (http://www.gamasutra.com).
Head to our ModDB Downloads page to grab the game!
The occasional frame rate drops and the length are a bit of a let down, but overall this is pretty damn fun.
I love hearing the different people shout random stuff to the effect of "Get that chicken!"
Assuming I ever finish this Mod of the Month article, I might try to review this later.
I didn't have any frame rate drops but I do want more. :) The flap never worked for me though (didn't do anything).
awsome though... had a blast! :)
It feels it could be a lot of fun except for a couple problems. I thought it was too hard. The moment I get touched the slightest, I had to start over. Second would be the frame rate which dropped fairly low (Probably making the game harder).
It looks fantastic. It might take me a while to get it downloaded, but I have high hopes. Good to see a mod team doing a Gamasutra post-morten, good going.
This is really a lame idea. On my opnion.
Have you even played it dude? Ill bet not.
Keep such bland opinions to yourself unless you've tried it, and feel there's something inherently wrong with the gameplay.
I dind't mean to offend any one, if I could I would edit that. The thing is, that's not my kind of game. I just expressed it badly. I'm sorry.
Played it - Loved it!
Some issues though
1. The map seemed to lag alot. I assume it wasn't optimized enough ? Either way, it was playable, just jerky at times.
2. only one level! :( I was hoping for more chicken actioN!
I found the game suprisingly easy actually!
YOu just have to keep cornering sharply and hopping. The "shift" key makes you run REALLY Quick at the cost of health, but if you learn how to use it you can switch between sprinting and laying eggs, and just basic hopping to get out really easily :)
Look for me on the high score list "Alex and Alex-KF" should be up there (unless some clever clucker has debunked me already! )
It was fun :)
REVIEWED!
