Catalonia mod for Hearts of Iron IV

A lot of effort to hide that this is the catism mod isn't it?

Sorry, but most posts are inaccurate in this thread. I don't plan to start a political argument, just to explain things as we know they happened, because I feel there is a lot of confussion here about this.

The territory we know today as Catalonia was occupied from the VIII century until the XII century by counties, independent of eachother BUT ALWAYS subordinated to other potencies and Kingdoms. During the waning years of the merovingian dinasty, soon to be succeeded by the carolingian one, the franks decided to start creating several counties on the territories controlled by them after fighting off the muslims. Those counties payed homage to France and were controlled by it, until Count Borrell decided to pay homage to the Caliph of Córdoba, resulting in the devastation of the counties by the muslims due to the power void originated afterwards. There is not, nonetheless, any evidence that shows us those counties could have been independent from France.

Soon afterwards, several counties were annexed to Aragón through dynastic unions. This included the County of Barcelona. They were never independent, as shows some historic documentation we still have regarding the homage they payed to Aragón and also the external influence they held from Castilla, whose king played a direct role into deciding which one of Berenguers' sons was to be proclaimed heir of the county.

Either way, after being unified into the Kingdom of Aragón, they managed to get rid of the homage they payed to France, but stayed annexed into Aragón. They held some degree of administrative independence, but we can't say "Catalonia" was an independent country. The first time we hear about the term "Principality of Catalonia" is on documents dating from the XII century after the dynastic union to Aragón has already been made, so we can't talk about it being an independent territory, but always sobordinated to the Kingdom of Aragón.

The whole situation I explain here can be seen in the Treaty of Corbeil signed in 1258 by the king of France and the king of Aragón.

There is lots of ohter wrong information here, like the guy who said Barcelona was the capital of the Kingdom of Aragón (my God...), but I feel this is the one that is giving more trouble here, to be honest.

Have you planned to do the same with Euskal Herria? I would like to play with it :D

but this mod doenst have sense. Catalonia is not a country and never in the history it was. Catalonia is just a region from spain, everyone that know some history knows that
