A new update that adds 5 new map ambients all of which are huntable. 4 are from RaptorKlaw's Skin Pack 4 & the other is from the Far North Old DLC.
Hey guys! I am very excited to bring you this update. Why, might you ask? Because this update brings you the Far North Old DLC Andrewsarchus with sound effects fully implemented! These sounds are the most complex ones I have ever put together. I hope I impress you guys with my sound work, especially the sound work for the kill animation!
(Honestly, it's more fun getting killed by it than actually killing it!)
The four other animals come from RaptorKlaw's Skin Pack 4: a reskinned Daeodon from Far North, a reskinned mammoth named the Columbian Mammoth, a reskinned Smilodon (RK specifies it as S. populatus), & a reskinned Diatryma. I want to give a big shout out to GXE290, the person in charge of the Carnivores Lost & Found. Before they posted that particular skin pack, I didn't even know it existed, so these four additional creatures were made possible thanks to GXE290.
As for the Far North Old DLC, that leaves Dinocrocuta & Castoroides left to get sound effects.
I still have yet to receive any feedback regarding my idea for the Hills of Ravaren map. I have thought about starting a poll, but I don't know yet.
If there is an animal for Ice Age you want to see in this mod, fire away into the comments below.
I would prefer to not have huntable original dinosaurs in Ice Age mod, so for Hills of Ravaren, map ambients like Moshops, Pteranodon or even Brachiosarus would be better choice. At the same time, adding dangerous medium sized fauna from C2 would make a nice endgame challenge, but i don't think they should be avaliable for trophy room (still giving you points).
Thank you for your feedback! Dimetrodon, Moschops, Gallimimus, Brachiosaurus (dangerous or not dangerous?), Pteranodon, & Dimorphodon will be added to hills of ravaren. How about Mosasaurus? As for dangerous fauna, how about Allosaurus & Spinosaurus? Thats nine map ambients.
Yes, every ambient animal from classic games + modders edition, so Mosasaurus should be included. Dangerous creatures - Allosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus. Maybe Trike, but very rare. Brachiosaurus should be capable of killing hunter.
Gotcha, I'll bring Climatius back with the Mosasaurus. Thanks for all your help!
Plus:
- Variety of animals
- New interesting animals
- I was amazed by the minotaurs in the second map, they are rarely seen, but they are very cool! And damn hard to kill considering their mobility.
- I liked the pack of wolves! They are difficult to kill, but fun!
- A large herd of mammoths is simply a big prize for points. In fact, this is how it should be, because in Ice Age mammoths always went in a large herd
Minuses:
- The game constantly crashes. So you won’t have to enjoy a long hunt of 40 minutes. There was also a suspicion that in map 4 there was a constant crash sometimes when trying to find Vendingo.
Please fix this! I ran it through Windows 98 and only through it. Try to take the example of Carnivores Legacy, where it can be easily launched through Windows XP and there is also a variety of all sorts of creatures. And there it crashed for me once in a few hours of play
- Yeti can't swim, despite the fact that in Saurina Target's review this dude can swim. I tried to hunt the yeti in the second map and he was generally afraid to go down into the water.
Yes, the game especially crashes when the wendigo kills me in Nidus Lake. Please fix this problem or tell me the correct creak of this creature
Found a problem with Wendigo. You forgot to add scripts for the death of the hunter after his attack. No wonder the game crashed due to your mistake. It’s a little ironic that an ordinary user corrects the mistakes of the author of this mod, despite the fact that in terms of scripts and programming I’m a real amateur. For now.I am silent about the fact that I spent half an hour searching for the source of the Yeti remake file, where you also forgot the SWIMMING animation! And had to make edits again
As for the rest, it is necessary to eliminate the crashes.
It would also be nice to add some variety to the landscape. Example McRath Island, a little Ravaren Map and also Infernus.
The first map is my favorite, but like the above, it's nice to add variety. More glacial, crystalline caves, echoing sounds with every movement, floating icebergs, possibly sea creatures, fogs, heavy snowfalls. There is already enough tundra, but mountains, snowy peaks and other various creatures would be welcome. I’ll at least agree to ancient snow basilisks or dragons, since the minotaurs turned out to be very suitable))
