In this chapter of the Black Mesa Incident you are a highly trained Black Op Soldier. You were sent in with a small squad to assassinate Gordon Freeman as well as other personnel that gave the H.E.C.U trouble. But as the grunts begin to fail and pull out your orders change. Now you must silence HECU soldiers that were left behind and conceal any evidence of the Black Mesa incident. In this journey you will visit new and old areas of black mesa, battling the forces of xen, race x, black mesa security guards, and HECU stragglers. I also plan on adding some new enemies, ones that Gordon & Adrian didn't get to see. With all these adversaries ahead, its good to know that these ferocious agile assassins will be on your side.

Report RSS Thunderstorm Bullshit

Well I have some news and not too great news either. Just yesterday my house was hit by a thunderstorm. Now I was sitting there working on a map for the mod and suddenly BOOM a loud pop and a blue flash. A lightning bolt hit my house (The thunderstorm seemed a ways away at the time so I was fucking suprised). I of course got the fuck away from my comp as fast as possible and waited the storm out. But when I got back to my PC it would not turn on.

Well I have some news and not too great news either. Just yesterday my house was hit by a thunderstorm. Now I was sitting there working on a map for the mod and suddenly BOOM a loud pop and a blue slash. A lightning bolt hit my house (The thunderstorm seemed a ways away at the time so this suprised the hell out of me). I of course got the fuck away from my comp as fast as possible and waited the storm out. But when I got back to my PC it would not turn on. Now this is strange because my monitor was plugged directly into the wall and my computer was plugged into a surge protector. But my computer is dead but my monitor and speakers still work, WTF!? Now I am hoping that only a fuse is blown or just my power unit is fried, my main worry is that the hard drive got fried, now if that is fried then that means all my data will be lost. All those hours of work gone. I do have backups on an external drive but the external drive contains much earlier work. Hopefully it will be taken to the computer shop soon and get fixed, and/or get the info off of my hard drive if it is possible. Now if I lose those hours of work I will be pissed and will probably have feelings on cancelling my mod. But if the mod is cancelled then the people watching it will hunt me down and beat me with metal baseball bats. But right now I don't think I can cancel this mod, even if I lose those maps I spent a lot of time making I will just start a later chapter then go back and re-do what I lost. Then again we don't know about my drive so I probably shouldn't even have posted this shit, I just haven’t done any news and so long. This incident is my fault, it is my own stupidity. I should have backed my shit up onto my external drive more often in case of freak accidents like this, AND FOR FUCK SAKES WHAT IF I HAD A HARDDRIVE FAILIER!? THEN I WOULD REALLY BE FUCKED! And also I should have remembered one of the most important facts about thunderstorms that everyone knows by the age of 5. "If you can hear thunder you are close enough to be struck by lightning!" I can't believe I never thought of that and also I am a super fucking retard for having any bit of my PC plugged into the wall and not my serge protector. The one thing the pisses me off most bout this is that it could have been easily prevented in so many ways!!!!! But then again, I did say that I may not kill this project. Because doing so would let a lot of people down.

Really bad news I was watching your mod some time now. I wish you the best and hope everything goes well for you & your hard drive.

Next time if you hear a storm shut down your computer and maybe unplug the power source.

Even though in the news post I did say I may not cancell the mod but I also really hate re-doing hours of work. So if my data is all gone then I will most likely cancell this project or just not work on it for a long time. My mod is not the only thing i am worried about, I also have a movie project on there as well and if that is lost I will be wicket ******.

That sucks bad dude. I email all the map and mod files to myself, using gmail, so I have the files stored there. Works nicely. But anyways, good luck with the PC.

This is why it's best to have your computer plugged into an uninterpretable power supply . Surge protectors tend to be useless.

The whole thing is confusing to me, the lighting struck the entire house and my computer was the only thing that was damaged. And supposedly hit the telephone in the other room sense I heard that a blue streak shot from it, but the phone works just fine. This is really some ****** up ****.
