Gameplay
Some major gameplay changes comparing to vanilla bf2 Conquest:
1. Score system changes. You earn extra score when destroying enemy vehicles, and have extra penalty when destroying friendly ones. Also taking CPs earns you a lot more scores.
2. Vehicle restriction system. First, you can't use enemy vehicles. Second, you can't get into the driver seat of a vehicle another player bought. Finally, you need special kits to drive particular vehicles. For heavy vehicles you need a crewman kit, and for helicopters and aircrafts you need a pilot kit.
3. Ammo boxes have been removed, and repair tools can only repair light vehicles. You should buy stationary ammo boxes and repair stations at friendly control points in the "CP Structure" banner in shop menu to refuel and reammo your vehicle or kit. This change aims to make the game pace slower, and make control points more tactically important to players.
4. A base guarding system. When all capturable points are lost, a base guarding system will spawn at the base CP. The system is almost invulnarable and have powerful weapons and infinite ammo.
Map support
This mod support all standard vanilla bf2 maps, which means you can add any map you like as long as it can run in vanilla bf2.
However, as we've only tweaked and tested US and MEC shop items, it's recommended to change the teams to US vs. MEC.
Note that every time you add a new map, you should run map_install.bat again.
Known issues
1. Soldier template error. Normally when you choose infantry kits, you will appear as a heavy soldier with more hitpoints and a bullet-proof vest. But sometimes this may not work. This feature may be removed as we can't come up with a solution.
Installation
1. Unpack the core package into [BF2 directory]\mods\bf2tactics.
2. Create a "Levels" folder, and add maps to this folder, then run map_install.bat. Every time you add new maps, this script need to be run again.
3. Start the mod and enjoy!
