I've been tinkering lately with some ideas for new menu screens to go along with the mod. The end plan is to have totally new backgrounds, tabs, borders, buttons, the whole deal. At the moment, I'm trying out some possible background images. These backgrounds are taken from art for the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game. Two examples are below:
Those backgrounds are not necessarily permanent - I may cycle through some other artwork, or create my own backgrounds. If you like those images though, let me know in the comments, and maybe they'll stick around!
In other news, I've been revisiting Boz Pity to make a few upgrades to the map. The most noticeable changes are the new objects. There are more props and structures scattered around the battlefield to provide more cover and more visual interest. The map is still fairly open (and it is meant to be that way), but any empty areas have been filled in with foliage. Much of the landscape is covered by tall grass. While the grass does not provide hard cover, it does make it much more difficult for enemies to spot the player (and vice versa). Players will rarely be caught totally out in the open.
I've also implemented the Galactic Civil War era and made some adjustments to the vehicle spawns. Each side now has access to at least eight vehicles - an assortment of tanks and speeder bikes. The Republic and Empire also have access to the AT-TE and AT-AT, respectively. Boz Pity is a vehicle-heavy map, but with the updates mentioned above, I'm finding that the map is a blast to play no matter what approach you take. You can attack enemies head-on, sneak around from cover to cover, zip around on a speeder bike, wreak havoc in a heavy tank, or play in whatever other manner suits you. Screenshots are below:
