A bit of a random question, but did the Daedalus-class exist by the Axanar timeframe?
If I'm not mistaken, some sources indicate that the Daedalus class existed as far back as the Earth-Romulan War, during the ENT-era. So yes.
Thank you! Maybe ships of the same class could be used as cheap holdovers if you lose your more advanced starships in the war? Just throwing some ideas around.
An interesting idea...
Late ENT-era, circa the Earth-Romulan War, which would make the Daedalus roughly as old as the Yorktown class and slightly older than the Asia class, but nowhere near as old as the Neptune class.
