Age of Chivalry is a total conversion for Half-Life 2 currently being developed by Team Chivalry. We are a close group of friends who are dedicated to creating a fun story driven multiplayer experience set in a fantasy world in the medieval ages. We are creating a fast paced and fun first person melee combat system that will take the player to a new level of immersion. The players will be able to take part in sieges, town raids and open war in a story driven game. Our goal is to let the players write the history of the game as the teams battle it out over a sequence of user controlled map cycles depending on the victor. We want to take the overall experience to a new level of fun. All of our members have a solid modding background and we hope that you support our modification as it grows and develops!

Job Title - Lead Animator

Description

Age of Chivalry is looking for a animator to continue the work on our project. Right now pretty much all of our animations are considered placeholders for future work from a more professional animator, perhaps you? If you think that you would enjoy doing this for a long time and that you have a love for medieval themed stuff, please dont hesitate to send us a letter.

Age of Chivalry is using Valve's Source engine. Our models are rigged using bipeds and a few helpers. We mainly animate using keyframe animations in 3D Studio Max, current version Max 8. You will be working with ready models and help with the scripts from the team members who has already been doing this for some time now. If you have any previous experience with .qc files its gonna help but its also something you can learn over time.

Requirements:
■ Dedication over a long time, AoC is a work continued and will be kept worked on for a long time until the product is at a state where we can start working on a sequel.
■ You need to be familiar with bipeds and keyframe animations.
■ 3D Studio Max 8 or later is a must. There is a possibility to convert the models to Maya, but if that is to be done the work must be done by you.
■ Understanding of gameplay and the ability to come up with animation designs by your self.
■ Preferably some knowledge about Valve's Source engine. But not needed.
■ Need to own a Valve game that comes with Source SDK Base (Half-Life2, HalfLife Deathmatch Source, CounterStrike Source or Day of Defeat Source)

Job Title - Assistant Programmer
Description
We are looking for at least one talented
programmer to help us with our mod project. We are working with Valve's
Half-Life 2 engine Source™.

A huge plus is if you have worked
on a mod team before. We are looking for someone that could take this
game to a higher level. We don't have an age policy, but our team have
a high mid age.

The person we need must have the ability to
work on this assignment for a long time. Understanding that creating a
mod isn't done over a night. We are working with a ready made engine
with very little documentation on how things works. So it is a lot of
trial & error to get things working.

Minimum Requirements
■ Object oriented experience in a language like java, c#, C++, etc. C++ HIGHLY preferred.
■ Experiences in game programming, client/server hierarchies. GUI development a big plus.

Experience with CVS (SVN-subversion, but not needed) and/or visual
studio (visual studio will be needed to develop, we are working with
.net 2005 at the moment)

Read more about the Source™ engine here: Developer.valvesoftware.com

If you are interested either of the positions, apply at: jobs@age-of-chivalry.com or use the form on our web-page, found under 'Contact'. Please include a resume, URL, and/or work samples.

Additionally we may also be interested in hiring very skilled level designers.
