Select from 13 unique locations and a total of 52 scenarios using the Adventure Mode launcher for Corsairs: Gold. All custom scenarios include a fifth Portuguese faction as well as more starting ships for all AI nations and the ability to choose your starting ship and gold. as well as teams, just be cautious of friendly fire!
Installation Instructions:
Place the folder named 'Adventure Mode Launcher' inside where your Corsairs Gold game is located.
Recommend moving the Corsairs Gold game folder from 'C:/Program Files (x86)/GOG Galaxy/Games'
directly into your 'C:/' drive or equivalent, this seems to fix a few minor bugs which appear when
the game is in the GOG directory, not sure why.
Open the 'Adventure Mode Launcher' folder located in your 'Corsairs Gold' folder and launch the
'Adventure Mode Launcher.exe' file. Setup your game and press the Load Adventure button to load your adventure.
Once a scenario is loaded, load the launcher.exe from the Corsairs Gold folder where
Adventure Mode Loader is located to start a new game.
Loading Saved Games:
To load a saved game, ensure the scenario you have loaded matches the saved game you are loading.
Consider this example: I play the scenario Africa as England and save my game. I then play Cuba as France,
and afterwards want to load my Africa saved game. I will need to launch the Adventure Mode launcher,
select Africa and England and load the scenario, now my saved game will work. Starting ship and gold
is irrelevant when loading a saved game.
How Does It Work?
The CD version of Corsairs Gold included an additional 'Adventure Mode' menu option, which includes five
free to play scenarios. This is unfortunately missing from the GOG version of the game. Until now these
scenarios have been unplayable, unless you are willing to manually modify game files.
The Adventure Mode launcher modifies these files for you. By replacing the first mission of the game
with a custom scenario, when selecting a New Adventure, the custom scenario is loaded.
What If I Want To Play The Campaign?
If you would like to play the campaign after playing Adventure Mode, select 'New Adventure' and load
the scenario. Starting ship and gold does not affect New Adventure.
Other Information
Once an Adventure Mode scenario has been completed, you will automatically load into the second
campaign mission of that nation. This is because, as far as the game is concerned, you have completed
mission 01. Feel free to quit the game and load a new scenario, or play on with the campaign.
The Portugese faction is in each custom Adventure Mode scenario. They were never completed and made playable
in the release version of Corsairs Gold. Unfortunately, I could not make them playable, however they
function as a fully functional AI nation, with two minor drawbacks:
1. You cannot see Portugese town in the town list.
2. You cannot purchase Portugese spies.

Sadly, does not work for me :( I'm not able to use the Launcher, since the game crashes when I try to. I have a home-made fix thanks to the GOG forum, and I launch the game via a desktop shortcut (/6/7 fix). Is there a way to use the Adventure mode with corsairs.exe directly?
Have you moved the corsairs folder directly into your C drive or equivalent? The launcher doesn’t actually launch the game, it modifys the game files so when you launch the game the selected mission will be the launched when New Adventure is selected.
Place the mod into the Corsairs folder, launch the launcher and set your game settings. Launch Corsairs.exe and select New Adventure, select the nation you chose and launch the mission, it should work. All this is also covered in the readme file. Let me know how you go
Hi i followed your instructions but when i click on Adventure Mode Launcher.exe the following error appears: first window: no error messages generated. FormatMessageW: The parameter is incorrect.
second window: Error loading Python DLL load library: Py installer: FormatMessageW failed.

Hi, apologies for the late reply. This is a Windows issue, seems like an issue with the install sript and Windows 7. Try installing the below and let me know if this fixes your issue.

Him, apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately there is no method of getting Adventure Mode back into the in-game menu. This mod modifies the first mission of the game so when the mission is launched, the corresponding Adventure Mode mission is launched. It is important to read the readme file, as it explains how to use the launcher. This way you can choose an Adventure Mode mission without the main menu. Plus there are a ton more to choose from and the Portuguese as a fifth (unplayable) faction.

Some users have reported issues using Windows 7 and the installer. If you run into issues of the following nature: 'Error loading Python DLL load library: Py installer: FormatMessageW failed.' Try searching and installing the below, use the official Microsoft.com package:

I get "this page isn't working right now"127.0.0.1, I tried allowing it through windows defender firewall and disabling adblockers(didn't try uninstalling them), and I also put the folder contents directly on to the game folder instead of just the folder at first and didn't fix it I'm using the one on the folder same result.
Have you exported the contents of the .zip file then moved the Adventure Mode Launcher folder into your Corsairs game folder? Does the error occur when you open Adventure Mode Launcher.exe of when you select any specific setting? What version of Windows are you using?
Windows 10.I unzipped the contents directly once to the main folder which could have replaced some files?Then I unzipped just the folder to the main corsairs folder which itself in C:Corsairs gold.
It shows that error on all settings(default and otherwise) but shows new adventure loaded with the new adventure loaded option.It doesn't load the adventures in game just the normal campaign if I try going after the error.I'm playing corsairs gold 2.1.0.7, I tried after reinstalling too.
There shouldn't have been files overwritten. Also in the launcher, check the game path matches the path there the game is installed. If the campaign is not being changed, it is likely the game path within the launcher is incorrect or the folder is incorrectly put in. Is the Adventure Mode Launcher folder sitting within the Corsairs Gold folder?
The Launcher takes the mission settings from the Launcher directory and then applies those settings to the first mission of the campaign, for the faction chosen. This is why the campaign missions are overwritten. If the first mission is not being overwritten, but the launcher is loading, then it is more than likely an error in the directory chosen or the placement of the Adventure Mode folder. When does the error appear and what triggers it? Does the error appear when you open the launcher or when you click 'Load Adventure'?
The game path and folders all correct.The error happens when I click load adventure.It does show the same error when I intentionally input the wrong folder and load adventure even with new adventure option.

So I downloaded and tried the hosted version and received the same error. I have re-exported the exe file, uploaded and tested. This version is working as expected, for me. The version is now 1.3.1. Please download this version, Export contents and copy the Adventure Mode Launcher folder into the Corsairs directory and re-try.
Thank you for really trying but it's still not working. I deleted the older ones and replaced them and it gives the same error, we can continue this in private if it's easier.
Hey I solved it. I switched from japanese system locale(non-unicode programs) to english again. Only bothered to fix it because you kept trying to help thanks, now I get to fight 4 factions at the same time.
