We have had a busy couple of months at Death by Design. We have made some great progress with the mod, some of which I will show you today. We have had some great new talent join the team in all areas of development.
With Crysis Warhead coming soon, i think its only fair that I tell you all now, the first public build of 28 Months Later will be on Warhead. We are doing this largely for the new features and engine stability, this should provide you with a much smoother experience, plus open the mod up to people with not such powerfull PCs.
So here are some examples of the work that has been done these past two months.
ART
Forrest Stephan:
Forrest (our lead 3D artist) has been working on buildings for our Dordogne levels.
Vintovka:
Our lead texture artist decided to spend some time learning to model.
I am sure you will agree with me that he has done a great job off this AN94
Dgoek:
One of our best talents, you wouldn't believe me if i told you how long it took him to make these.
Ramza:
Here is some work from one of our newest members .
He has been working very hard for us, I will have lots to show from him in the next update.
M-562 and Kingpin:
M-562 has really started coming into his own in modelling. He did a great job on this colt 45.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome Kingpin to the team as a dedicated texture artist,
as you can see from this colt he is great at what he does.
St.Sabath:
Last but not least one of our longer lasting members has been churning out buildings for the Paris map.
I will be showing off those when all the textures are complete.
ANIMATION
Mephisto and IchII3D:
IchII3D has been working in a motion capture studio,
here you can see him doing some initial Mo-Cap trials
IchII3d and Dendy have been cleaning up the Mo-Cap data and importing it into 3D Studio max
Mephisto test imports the data into Sandbox.

Wow... When i saw the Mo-cap i was skeptic at first. I did not think that guy was doing a very good job of being a zombie but when I saw it on the models I was blown away. Its really convincing and scary. Keep this up!

Talk about luxury having a MoCap studio at hand. Seeing the quality you guys put through on this, it will be hard NOT to love this when it's done! I'm so getting Warhead just for this, cheers!
It's good to hear that this will be on the warhead engine now. Hopefully it will be much better optimised and maybe have some new effects, maybe DX10.1 support.
Wow the motion capture is really impressive! AN-94 looks nice too but it's rather an uncommon weapon.

Mocap didn't cost anything, we have access to a studio that we try and use as much as we can when able to use it.

A mocap studio! That's just not fair! Awesome work though guys. Props look great. Thing is, I don't remember seeing any of those weapons in either movie... Still! I'm looking forward to the mod!
This is 28 months later, so it will propably take place in russia or something like that, hence the diffrent weapons.

warhead is like crysis execpet from a different point of view. its from one of your squadmates pointview of the game. i think u should get warhead only if u get crysis first and beat. but warhead is suppose to be using kinda like a new sandbox engine that will increase the performence of the game even for not so great computers
this mod looks freakin awesome cant wait for this. any objects u guys make for this, will it be added to the crysis libary? like will we be able to make maps like ur's?
Yes Chris. You will be able to use all our assets to make new maps for 28ml. We will include most of the cry files too so you can even edit the official maps.
We will also have an autodownloader in the mod, so that your custom maps will be played.
I must admit when I first saw the mod, I was a little skeptic but now it looks real good.

omg finally someone is putting a UMP .45 smg.
plz o plz dont underpower this gun like in every other game, its a frecking .45 it has huge knockdown power.
also, if warhead doesnt have the supposed performance enhancements will you still release it for the 1st crysis, since basically you getting more people to spend $30 just to play the mod. personally i will pay it, but some might not think that way.
also, will we be able to put on or take off weapon atachments like in crysis?

I've never even played Crysis, my PC wouldn't be able to handle it anyways so when I first saw this mod I didn't care for it at all. Now however, this is starting to look very interesting. Awesome that you've got some motioncap animations, very impressive results, good for a mod like this.
I guess that if you turn out to be a top notch mod I'll have to Purchase Crysis AND a new PC (I plan to get a new rig anyways). I hope you will :).

ok, after thinkin it over, im glad you guys are taking it to release it for crysis warhead, cause after i heard this news i started searching for my crysis dvd to install it, and low and behold, i couldnt find my cd-key, so buying warhead would make me feel better about losing the dam key lol
