Hello, this is very interesting timing; I see you posted this just a few days ago.
I'm actually in the middle of making a Doom mod which aims to recreate Wolf3D with an emphasis on gameplay, style, and presentation. This thing you said about getting your work not just good enough, but just right (does perfect sound too insane? =P) resonates with me, and it's a chief goal here. It won't be done until it's done correctly. And one of the things I'm searching for is improved music!
There have already been a few Wolf3D music re-workings I've come across. The one I'm using current is... good enough :)
And actually, in finding this link I noticed this is a different version than the ones I'm using, which I found in the resources of another mod, but I can locate those for you as well if you're interested.
But I'm writing because I'm interested in hearing your work and perhaps implementing it in my mod, with your permission.
I have a good deal of work already done but I'm not quite ready to put it on moddb or 'announce' it officially yet. However, I have no problem showing you some progress either in screenshots or as playable files :)
