3089

Game review may contain spoilers

Even though it's early in the development process, this game is AMAZING. I can't even think of a good place to begin, so I'll start with my last game...

I walked into a building and bought a level 1 gun, started the story missions by 'backing up' my telemtry and then started to play. In short order I'd completed a few misisons; been attacked by restless ghosts; scavenged parts to upgrade my gun to level 2, then 3; and so on until it got to be a level 10 killing MACHINE with scope, silencer and homing explosive bullets; spoken to an ancient civilazation; built my own base and stared down UFOs, Spiderbots and Rollertanks and emerged victorious from it all.

The game has procedurally generated... well, pretty much everything. Missions, weapons, terrain, buildings... you never know exactly what you're in for, although you can be sure it'll be a great ride. Your choice of gameplay styles is limitless - are you a walking tank or a ninja assassin? Diplomatic schemer or ace fighter pilot? There are no hard-and fast roles, and you can mix and match and make it up as you go along.

In short, the thing that gives this game its potential is its limitless potential - a tautology I know, but you really do have to experience the world of 3089 to see how beautifully it all works together. Also, grappling hook FTW!
