If you suffer from crashes to desktop after 5-10 minutes playing, I solved that simply running the game as administrator. To do this, search farcry2.exe in the game installation directory, right click on it, properties, select compatibility tab and check "Run this program as administrator" or something similar. In my case, no crashes since then. Hope this helps you.
