Mod review

It is amazing what the beppe_goodoldrebel has been able to do with a game as old as SWAT 4.

The models are great, the addition of new futures such as lean-walking, maglite and my favorite peeking through doors. First Responders mod deserve praise.

Unfortunately some of the creator's choices have really messed up the balance of the game. The AI will rush towards the source of any sound and since the doorwedge is no longer functional this means you are left with little choice but to essentially kill the suspects running through any door.
Sometimes it has been up to five suspects charging through a door straight to their deaths.

What's even worse is the morale of some of the suspects are beyond reason. You can gas them, pepperspray them, punch them and hit them with bean bags and they still won't surrender. When also taking into account that punching and bean bags do damage you'll end up incapacitating the suspects and be punished for unauthorized use of force. This obviously affects the score and makes it unreasonably difficult to complete on hard and on elite, if it is possible at all.

The suspects litteraly would rather die than to surrender. One can argue it's realistic, but the principle of SWAT 4 is to arrest, if you remove that possibility, I might well go guns blazing like any other shooter.

The worst example is the Old Granite Hotel. This mission is completely broken thanks to this mod.

I suggest everyone should still try out this mod. But only play it on easy or normal.
