actually no, it's a few decades ahead...

We're more interested of what consequences the revealing of the whole "dream world" situation had. In the trilogy, this is something that is left for the viewer to think about and we're just putting all these thoughts into a mod.

have you heard of the Animatrix stories? It's a set of anime comics that fill in the blanks of the MATRIX myth and a few of the stories work on parallel timelines (with the movies).

This will be something like that...
