Ask Valve that. Besides, I'm sure the NMRiH team will change how each weapon effects the zombies and will give certain advantages/disadvantages to each weapon so not everyone will want one weapon all the time. Making the baseball bat attack more slowly than the machete while doing more damage would be an example.

These audio updates are a lot more reassuring than the sight of my summer burrow still intact after a whole year of facing the elements.
