Each faction will have local levies they can recruit in a conquered region, though it depends on what the population is like *after* the faction conquers it. So if orcs conquer an elven faction's territory, they will not be able to recruit elves suddenly, but they might be able to recruit some Men who are willing to join them in banditry/raids. Just as an example.

No plans whatsoever, maybe sometime in the future. At the moment the team is fully dedicated to work on our new project, Total War: Wainriders, which is set in 1856 Third Age, when the easterlings and southrons challenge the might of Gondor and the Witch King is poised to destroy the last remnant of Arnor: Arthedain.

It sounds like you've installed the mod incorrectly, I'd remove all FATW related files from your install and try again. Be sure to follow the installation instructions carefully. If this doesn't help, I'd suggest stopping by the Fourth Age Total War discord server and ask there, it's a lot easier to get some help there rather than here :)

We're still working on the project, putting together the assets to make a playable campaign. Most of the work is done, now we got to get down to the nitty gritty of making it an enjoyable experience to play.

If and when we open up the mod for testing, we'll let everyone know :)

There is no Rhovanion faction as that part of Gondor has been overrun by the invading easterlings (Wainriders). The people of Rhovanion have either fled north towards what is Dale, or West across the Anduin and Gondor's borders have diminished significantly east of the Anduin. Rhovanion is currently at game start occupied by the Western Horde (one of our wainrider factions). :)

I believe the fighting will be much fiercer and on a much larger scale in the south. There's two wainrider factions pressing on Gondor's borders and the southern fiefs of Gondor will be a three way war between the Lordship of Umbar, Gondor and the Tribes of the Harad. Gondor's northwestern border towards western Calenardhon will be held tenuously at best by Gondor, and there's tribes of middle men who are willing to seize an opportunity there :)

In the north the fighting will be fierce but of a different sort, as population counts in the north are much lower, the battles will be too. To me personally I prefer to fight in this theater of war, mostly because I'm a sucker for Arnor/Arthedain and I like a steep uphill battle in my campaigns :)

What can I say? It's fun being the underdog :)

In many respects there will be similarities between Dominion of Men and Warinriders, the political and cultural situation is very different in the mid-Third Age and what was imagined to be the first few centuries of the Fourth Age in DoM, so the balance between the cultures/religions will be different. :)

Hello and thank you for the kind words! The Senate faction feature will not be used in Wainriders and Sauronw will not be making an appearance in Wainriders as he would not openly declare himself until late in the Third Age.

The problem with using such faction mechanics is that it will railroad the experience quite a bit for the player, where it's either meaningless if it's not impactful, or too impactful and can not be ignored. Thus it will lead to less replayability, which is antithetical to a good RTW campaign :)

Stay tuned for more news and information! :)

We're currently reviewing our options. Any port would also mean a delay to a release, and the gains will perhaps not outweigh the demands on our time as developers. We're currently adopting a wait-and-see approach :)

Hello!

The campaign map is being overhauled as I'm writing this message. We are moving around both settlements and provinces to fit the era. The campaign map is not ready to be previewed, but the map will have a new set of textures, climates and detail to it. We are not ready to show it just yet because it's simply not done. But the mod will both look and feel very different from both an artistic point of view, as well as a gameplay PoV.

GoT is such a complicated world that RTW can't possibly simulate it well (family intrigues and the feudal system) without modders having access to the source code - but alas that simply is not an option for us.

And we will strive to continue releasing this submod with exactly the same attention to detail that FATW has :) Lore accuracy and meaningful gameplay decisions are an active set of discussions in almost all discussions we have when we want to make something new or change something that already exists.
