Urban Terror Q3 mod

Mod review

Great game all around. Can take a while to learn jump tricks but lots of fun when you know how to do them, slide around the map while defeating your opponents. Some servers also host dedicated "jump" maps with obstacle course style gameplay.

Many weeks of fun in this.

Cube 2

Engine review

One of a kind.

Built-in map editor, mesh exporter (the built-in editor doubles as a 3D modeler in itself), fancy shaders, scriptable game content, and the source code is even provided. What more could you ask for in a free engine.

This has to be the most inspirational game engine out there. In my opinion this beats several commercial game-engines by a long stretch.

Worth checking out, especially if you are into content creation (maps, models, etc).

Very interesting game-modes such as the hover-deathmatch (lots of fun). The engine used to power RE is based on Cube2, i play Cube2:Sauerbraten almost every single day and RE adds to the fun with a new twist on gameplay and some stunning new features.

The gameplay is very unique for a FPS and worth checking it out if you're curious. If you're a fan of the Quake series, you'll probably fall in love with this.

In-game editor gives you access to instant creation of your own maps (you can play them while you build them, even with other players!) In my opinion, the best thing about the Cube2 engine is the ability to edit maps in-game.

Haven't really played alot of games with this genre in the past, but this one is easy to get hooked on.
