Your ideas are actually pretty similar to what we already have planned, the weight types will determine damage resistance (essentially health overall) and movement speed as well as corresponding to a player class to boost stats as well

This building is actually a Library, I know it's a little hard to tell though the other image is a Church so there will be a religious building in the map.
