Thanks for reporting this! I'm going to try and implement a safeguard for this, to create a new package if this happens.

How this happens I do not know, nothing in the game should remove the package, but you are the first to report, and I'll start tonight! :)

Hello fellow modder!

Been using this for a while, good job on it. It makes more sense than vanilla with all the extras. Much more enjoyable!

Had a whoops though just now, the end of the log reads:

# SAVING: Sleep deprivation | last_sleep: 2207.2
# SAVING: Bounty Squad | [last_spawn_time]: table: 0x31cc8ef0
# SAVING: Bounty Squad | [active_squads]: table: 0x30965838
# SAVING: Bounty Squad | [chance_multiplier]: table: 0x308515d0
stack trace:
[error][ 87] : The parameter is incorrect.
at address 0x0000000140163AD9

I've found the code in 'sim_squad_bounty.script', but can't myself find which 'parameter' is incorrect :(

Edit: I should mention it happened just after pressing quick-save.

Yes, you can install to a current game, it'll create the new stashes, but they'll most likely be empty (extra storage if needed though!).

The treasure_manager script does a thing on a new game start to count all the stashes in the levels and use them throughout the game, so my script hooks in just before to place new ones before it does that.

I've done this because other addons have modified treasure_manager scripts, so at least this addon is compatible with those.

Also, thank you! That is really nice to hear. I'm working on new ones too, can't stop modding, ha! :D

Hi there! Thanks for posting, I had mentioned the AI NPCs are unaware of these locations, but will update it to "they will die a horrible death!" heh!

I have been trying a few things lately to protect companions while they are in the new safe-zones, as they are technically still 'outside', but haven't yet found a solid solution yet. Will keep trying though! :)

Ha! No bother at all, the amount of times I've crashed the game now... is silly. It's all learning at the end of the day, I would be lost without people's comments!

Hi, bit of a delay but I may have solved it in v1.8... I forgot about the underground levels AGAIN (D'oh!), this time it was to do with underground levels in the package queue. Hopefully, this will sort your issue!

I'm so glad that worked, that would have taken me a long while to work out without your feedback!

That's now twice I forgot to take into account the underground levels, but it's all learning in the end.

I'll add you to the credits at least, thanks again :)

Tweaki_Breeki - - 218 comments @ TB's RF Receiver Hidden Package Sidequests v1.8

Yes, it absolutely does! I think I know what has happened:

At some point you were in "l10u_bunker" (which is Lab X-19 under Radar) and while you were there you got goodwill points for the Stalkers/Loners (probably by shooting the hundreds of Monolith down there). So when it tries to go through the queue of packages, it crashes, because I didn't take this into account!

Learning to make addons for Stalker has honestly been such a journey so far, and it's things like this that teach me a lesson for next time.

I'll add the underground maps to the listing, and then we can try again. I'll edit this comment when I'm done. Thanks for your help! :)

EDIT: Okay, I've added in the underground maps with their potential linked levels being the level it is under plus the surrounding levels of that level (if that makes sense?)

Please can you give this a whirl and if it works I'll release 1.8 - the ptolthegoodguy edition, ha!

Ah, okay, I failed again at coding it to not print the table if there isn't one...

*slaps head*

However, one thing is certain... you're in "l10u_bunker" which should be covered by the "player is underground", but if it isn't then I'll need to add the level names manually.

Again, this is massively helpful, thanks for getting back to me on this :)

While I fiddle with some things, here's a link to that same script fixed (it should now print all the things)

Thanks so much for doing this! This will be super-helpful.

I've modified the script to print to the console all the variables used when the new package is being created.

It should look something like this:
E.pcloud.link

When you quit the game, or should I say when it crashes, this information should now be in the log file which can be found in:

    ..\Anomaly-1.5.1\appdata\logs\xray_YOURNAME.log

If you could paste in a comment everything between:

$ TESTING tb_radio_thing [START]
... and ...
$ TESTING TB_VARIABLES [END]

The modified script:
E.pcloud.link

Just overwrite the existing one with this one, cheers!

Thanks for the reply!

I'm very confused by this bug, I can't work out what has happened :(

Please can I ask if you could do me a huge favour?
If I link you to a debug version of this script, would you be able to run it on your saved game?
(If you have a saved game before you picked up the package)

It'll print out all the variables to the log file at the point before the crash, which will help me fix this, hopefully!

Oh! Thank you for letting me know! I'm still a bit confused as to why this is happening, but it is important to fix this.

I spent a while collecting packages in Trucks myself and haven't had the crash, but I have an idea for some kind of fail-safe to put in. Will look at this today!

EDIT: Hi again, I can't see what would cause 'packagespot' to be 'nil'. Were you also in Trucks level, or a different level? Thanks!

Tweaki_Breeki - - 218 comments @ TB's Angry Chimera Growls v1.1 (Added Lurkers!)

I already knew some AutoHotkey for scripting windows things, but relatively new to Lua and other languages.

First thing to do is to run the batch file:

    ..\Anomaly-1.5.1\tools\db_unpacker.bat

This will extract all the *.ltx, *.script and *.xml files into a folder structure in a folder called "_unpacked".

There are lots of scripts to study in there to see how things should be structured.

From what I have learnt, a lot of it is to do with using "callbacks" e.g. on_game_start(), on_game_load(), actor_on_update() etc.

So if you had:

    function actor_on_first_update()
        printf("Hello Stalkers!")
    end

and saved that as 'AnyNameYouWant.script', saved inside the 'gamedata\scripts' folder, when you load a game it will print "Hello Stalkers!" in the console.

There are lots of people who have kindly helped me out when I got stuck on something in the Discord channel (modding development)

    https://discord.com/invite/c4RuJNs

and a good site to test out Lua is:

    https://www.tutorialspoint.com/execute_lua_online.php

Watching lots of YouTube on Lua basics was very helpful to understand how all the commands work such as if, else, while, for i=1,100 do, etc.

Being able to kinda 'visualise' code in my mind helps me as I'm a thinking in pictures person, but everyone is different so finding the right way to learn for you is important! :)

Cheers Spacecheese88! I'll go with the depreciated adjective:

Merry; airy; jovial; sportive; frolicksome. It denotes more life and animation than cheerful.

Hi there, and thanks!

Yes, you can absolutely delete any sound file(s) you want to if there is a conflict with another addon.

Desman's Horror Overhaul looks great actually, might have to try it myself! :)

Cheers!

I had no idea that Stalker uses "comments" that are actually inside the OGG sound file itself, things like volume to be played, min/max distance to hear and even AI reaction distance.

LateTooDoomLand pointed SAV&T (Sound Attribute Viewer and Tweaker) out to me:

Metacognix.com

There's so many "hidden game rules" when modding, it seems!

Cheers!

I use Solarint's Soundscape Overhaul (which is absolutely brilliant), and it helps a lot by removing all the fake mutant ambient sounds... so when you hear a mutant's distant call, you know it is definitely real.

Plug & play has always been the goal, as you said, it saves having to add patches for other addons etc. You and FunkBuddha1 are right about the cats, they are "silly-difficult" sometimes, I might see about them too :)

What a nice comment, you are very welcome!

I've been really enjoying learning Lua, even if a bit later on in life myself. Trying to think of unique ideas is fun in itself, and all my addons are something I personally wanted to see in the game.

I'm pleased others enjoy using them too! Thanks :)

Lol! Most of the mutants don't have much sound, do they? I assume this was by design to make the game more difficult. At least the Boars have their glitchy foot-stomps, but I may look at adding some "yoinks" :)

Thanks! I can't seem to replicate this issue, but I've made a couple of changes to the script.

My guess is either collecting the package or creating the package at the exact time the script is checking the goodwill relations, maybe?

I'll upload v1.7 later today :)
