For both 1&2, we hope to get to that point eventually, however, we are starting off with only the Galactic Civil War era. More specifically for heroes, we can't use signature characters easily as we risk copyright infringement against Disney, so if we are able to eventually put them in, it will have to be done carefully. Even then, we will not likely be able to use signature characters at all.

A chatbox seems feasible and beneficial, especially when you look at battlefront 2, though a command system would take more work. By command system, you mean a way to let other players know a primary objective, example: Take A point, correct?

Have you ever tried the BFX mod? The Dark trooper has a fully auto shotgun that is fun to run with, and the wookie has a ridiculously strong rocket launcher. Very polished mod that is one of my favorites, with conversion and dark times mod both not far behind. Good times, good times. . .

Anyone else remember the moments in bf2 where you are a jet trooper or dark trooper flying majestically until a good sniper picks you off mid-air? Sometimes that reminded me of the occasional AI. Sorry for not saying anything yesterday, the whole family was gathered watching the star wars movies! May the 4th be with you all!

Correct, we face legal issues should there be profits involved. It will be entirely free to play. There will be no need for any purchases to play the game. When it is ready, you can simply download it and enjoy.

We do want to try to have some elements destructible, but it takes time to make it work. You may see some, but most likely little to none at first. How it would work is a very broad question. The ability to destroy objects could be anywhere from blowing up a crate in your way to blowing down a wall. It really depends on what is done and how. The devs could clarify this better but that is the general idea.

I actually really like the grenade changes and the modifications to realistic movement speed. Still can't wait to try this out!

We have the tools to make it look great and we have already started using them. We have mostly locked ourselves into the standard of quality we want. Also, how it looks will impact the game in a big way. For this game to get off the ground, it needs have more than a "playable" sticker on it. First impressions only happen once and we want to make sure that first impression is top notch. As Mandosis has stated previously, most of our work is currently being spent making the core of the game. We certainly seek to do our best to fulfill the dreams of all Battlefront fans with our spriritual successor. We want to make everything better and improved graphics are just another way we are doing that.

Love the passion but the choice on character models seems odd :P

Ah. . .the good old man who decided his ice cream maker was the most important thing to take with him. . . I haven't seen reference to him in a long time! We don't really have a plan for hero units that I am aware of, but a reference to him would be a possibility to see about.

The entitlement is amazing from him. . .he doesn't seem to realize the effort that goes into making mods nor the fact that you're doing it for free on your own time. Poor, poor soul. . . XD

These words you have given us are exactly what I have been waiting for. You said you were not done with it. I knew eventually we would get it! I STILL have a mod folder waiting for this! <3

We have plans for both first and third person perspectives. Lightsabers, meaning jedi and sith, we hope to include at some point but we have to be careful about copyrights. That said lightsabers are a ways off. Right now we are focusing on the core of the game which involves infantry and vehicles. Once we have the game developed more we can put more time to see what we could do for jedi. In short, you probably will not see lightsabers very soon, at least, not in game. Merry Christmas!

To dive further, we actually would likely face legal repercussions from the monopoly mouse himself if we made this for monetary gain. Free we can get away with, but Disney is not known for playing nice with potential profits. The Alpha release is uncertain on accounts of progress being made. The first impression will be critical for us as Schlechtwetterfront has mentioned. All I can really say for sure is when it is ready you will know. Merry Christmas!!

Currently, if I am not mistaken, it is practically multiplayer exclusive.

do forgive me if this comes off as rude, but people asking the same questions over and over (i.e. When will you release it/link please?/etc) doesn't either. Sad truth, but all we have is that he plans to finish it. Nothing more. (Though I do think that he should at least update the main page to let randoms know the current situation. . .)

They certainly are a skilled group. They are bringing a healthy amount of experience with them. Now that we have their assistance, Battlecry will be all the better!

give the guy a break, he doesn't do this for a job and most certainly isn't being motivated by this. . .the best thing to do is just hold off on the consistent posting. . .he will let us know when he is releasing it. .. constantly asking is not going to get anywhere.

While possible, I think we are going more with classic troop designs. We also have a few more photos of the classic troops to make our models off of. While the helmet is cool, some whole body shots would make for a more accurate model.
On that note, who else will go see Star Wars VII no matter how bad it is? *raises hand*
