Just a couple of bugs to work out. There is the problem that I will be unable to patch the game for players without the older LOL versions. So I will have to include the whole LOL version that the mod works for. This presents some copy write issues that I will try to resolve.

I have the item purchasing working, and the stats apply as they should. The one thing I haven't done is implement all of the passives and abilities that come with items. This would take forever to implement, and I would rather get everything else working first. This even includes health potions, but to compensate the lack of potions I have implemented a Diablo 3 style Health pack dropping system when you kill zombies.

Thanks for the offer, but most of the programming and reverse engineering are complete. I would like to share the code for you to learn from, but there are some moral reasons not releasing the source. See one of the lengthier comments of mine on the main page regarding my reasoning.

But I will need some help testing the mod out in the near future. If you could help out with that I would be grateful.

I agree. Next video I will turn the game sound down and the mic up. I will also try to speak clearer ( first time recording myself talking to myself ) felt real awkward.

This video is one giant hack. Movement wasn't implemented. I was just bouncing the clients movement packets. That's why the zombies didn't move. And why graves kept sliding when I shot the smoke grenade. No collision for graves charging into walls. Visibility looks like it worked but I was faking it. That's the chicken or the egg problem. Cant write a server without the knowledge of how the client/server interacts, and you cant view that interaction without a server. All this is implemented correctly now.

Switching the minions skins is exactly what I have done. I have replaced the 4 minions on both teams (the client is hardcoded at 4). I could do more minion types by spawning them as neutral, but I'm not sure how they will be represented on the minimap.

Lan co-op would also enable co-op over the net which I don't want to do for reasons mentioned above.

Thanks for the offer, but most of the programming is done already. But beta testing you can do for sure.

It wouldn't be as simple as uploading to their server. Most of the unique stuff is hardcoded in the server. I didn't want to spend the time writing the mod in LUA when I could do it natively. If Riot liked the idea, they could easily implement it themselves. Which would be pretty sweet

The spells I have chosen are Teleport and Garrison. I think they are the most suitable. I have reworked Garrison to better fit the mod. As well as the rest of graves skills

Good questions. Questions 1 & 2 will share common ground and I will explain my thoughts on the matter further down.

1. Quite the opposite. The server sort of already supports co-op. It's a moral reason to leave it inactive.

2. I'm not sure. There have been many mods to the game over the years that Riot has had no problem with. Leaguecraft.com for example has thousands of Skin mods as well as tools and tutorials on how to mod the game. So it seems to be in spirit of the law rather than the letter. I will contact Riot about this matter when I have a more substantial mod to show.

3. I mean the "iconic" type. It connects via 'localhost'. You can play with no internet connection

1 & 2: This has been a concern for me from the start. The problem comes with the Free TO Play model. If we all paid for the game upfront, then I would have no issue modding the game. But since Riot makes their money from players buying skins and playing on there servers, playing on a custom server circumvents their monetary strategy.

There are 2 things that I can feel morally sound with. Keeping it single player, and not releasing the tools/server source code. My little mod wont harm Riots player base. People might play the mod once or twice, and go back to playing on Riots servers. But if I were to open source the server and tools, there would be potential for lots of mods. This could cause a large fork in the player base, which I do not want to be responsible for.

I do realize that my morals does not reflect Riots viewpoint. So how will Riot respond?? Time will tell.

Now that the negatives are out of the way. There are some beneficial data that Riot can gain. First off Riot is starting to experiment publicly with different game types. Doing so presents a few risks. The financial cost of implementing a game type. If the game type is not well received then Riot takes the hit.

With my mod they get the aggregate player satisfaction with a new game type, without the time and money implementing it. And if the gamers who try the mod hate it, Riot does not take the fall.

If the mod is well received it may get Riot to support mods, further improving their relationship with their players.

I am interested in what others have to say about this so leave a comment

Its not available to download at this time. I expect some form of public beta test to be ready in a month or so. But check back before then as I will be uploading new videos in the upcoming days/weeks.

Its a private server written specifically for the mod. Just simply start the server and play. The exact workings on how this is achieved would take days to explain.

If you have any specific questions to the workings of the mod feel free to ask.

ya and there will be another one tonite or tommorow with the laser pointer, a menu system, an incomplete training map, and... well i think that will be all. I released this very early so if someone was interested in TAS running Half-Life, they could provide feedback so i can shape the mod to fit their needs.

lol this map isnt meant to look good. Nor will it ever. Its a map so people can test out the different TAS tools availible in the mod.

Im curious as to how you might have done this with only the console. Your answer might save me alot of time in other areas.
