It was actually playing Dark Messiah that made me think of this. I wanted the combat in that to involve more than just clicking, and that's where I thought the gestures could come in. From there is was just figuring out how that would fit into the game.

The most complicated part would be how to stop the camera going everywhere while you perform them, but I think disabling the character movement while you do it could be triggered by a click. Simple (maybe) :)

The B&W system meant your miracles were more powerful the more accurately you traced the shapes, but that might be a little too complex for a mod like this (which may or may not be dead before it starts).

Simple shapes should be pretty easy to detect. I'm talking like a big 'Z' in the screen. From my point of view, it should be fairly easy to detect a start point (top left), two waypoints (top right, bottom left) and the finish point (bottom right), but I don't know programming :)

I thought there was a problem with the domain too, but nightfallmod.com still works fine.

One problem though - the cool movie-style posters have the wrong URL on them :)

I've been watching this mod for a while now and it's definitely looking and sounding great. I hope there's something new to see soon!

Congrats on the feature!

So it wasn't all positive, that's not a big deal. I'm sure anything you think is a problem area can be fixed. Well done again, keep up the good work.

The only thing missing from this shot is shadows - looks like the buildings are done but the potentially moving stuff isn't (train, Combine truck, crates).
I don't think this one looks anywhere near as polished as the others.

I like it. Maybe a little to bright overall though. Judging by the colour of the sky, the overall brightness should be lower, and then the light sources would be more atmospheric. You also might get away with more of those "repetitive background textures". And of course shadows would create more depth.

Other than that, I like this shot. Gives a good ambience.

I downloaded this mod a few weeks ago and although I didn't get a chance to try it multiplayer (and the fact that in General mode it killed my PC!) but it does have a lot of promise.

PC Zone has been my favourite and most trusted gaming publication for years - I normally agree with just about everything they say. To see a mod getting such high praise and media attention definitely speaks volumes.

Well done all.

I'm really interested in this mod. I play Dawn of War and am getting more and more interested in the 40k universe.

Games and mods like this one are a good way to feel like you're involved too.

Oh, and to the team:
If you need music, check my Addon DB profile and message me :)

Yes you can use this track as long as I get credit for it. Check the readme for full info.

@ TKAzA
Thanks. I had added this before I even saw the Standalone option :)

Thanks for the reply.

I wish I did! Unfortunately I have zero mod skill beyond pen and paper planning :) I've only just started messing around with Hammer and currently have no idea what I'm doing most of the time!

But good luck with the mod, it's on my watch list and I'll be waiting for release.

Any and all help is appreciated, so keep watching your inboxes in case I need you :)

Unfortunately my modding skill is zero. I've just started messing around with Hammer but there's no way I could do anything this ambitious. I've already got a couple of levels mapped by hand, but transferring them to game is the problem!

If you find any coders of modellers who might be interested, send them my way! :)

I like the sound of this mod. I was sold on the F-Zero style part, but the "innovative control scheme" really has me intrigued!

You've not listed any music guys in the Help Wanted section and I'm just wondering if you need someone who can make, er... pumping tunes?

Mod is on watch list, so if you either PM me or reply here I'm sure I'll see it.

The WIP shots of the karts look great! I didn't think they looked that low poly myself, but I guess it sort of fits the style of the original games :)

I saw the Help Wanted ad and was wondering if you're still looking for sound guys? I'm a musician and have never worked on a mod before so have no portfolio to show anyone. This would be an ideal starting place.
I was a big fan of both MK64 and the original SNES version, and would love to be on board doing music for this project. Steel drums FTW :)

Please message me back here or drop an email (if that's an option - total noob here!) either way. This is on my watch list now.

Good luck!

I'm disappointed that work has stopped on this mod. I'm a big fan of the Dawn of War RTS games and think the Source engine could be really good for translating that hardcore killfest into a FPS environment.

I've got this mod watched, so if it ever makes a comeback and you need music, let me know :)
