Amazing atmosphere, sound design, tension, and nice graphics as well! This game blows the pants off of any other "horror" title. Nothing comes close to it in scare factor.

The story is interesting and engaging, and the setting is eerie, dark, and absolutely dreadful. The main story can last anywhere from 8-12 hours, depending on how much you like to explore, find items, read notes, and listen to the voiced dialogue. The dark figures that stalk you are extremely dangerous and very well-designed to induce the maximum amount of terror.

It should probably be made clear that you cannot fight any enemies in this game - you are encouraged to sneak, hide, or even run, if necessary. On paper, this may seem to reduce the amount of fun in a game, but it simply does not in this case. The sheer amount of terror experienced feeling powerless against the horrors makes this game top-notch in its ability to make you crap your pants. This game is just great - buy it now and never regret it!

WARNING: You MUST wear good (preferably surround sound) headphones, sit in a dark room, and play all alone for the best immersion. It is highly recommended (even by the developers)!

10/10 is a high rating, sure, but remember that this is an opinion based in an individual who really enjoyed this game and developing of mods (custom stories) for it. You should read more reviews and do a decent amount of research before purchasing the game - some have found it so scary that they have never even completed it, essentially throwing away some of their money! Make sure that you can stand horror well, as this should definitely be a deciding factor in your purchase.

One more thing. It may be tempting to watch some videos on Youtube or other media sites on the game, but I would recommend staying away due to the spoilers they tend to contain. Read written reviews, taking care not to peer at the possible spoilery comments below.
