Shouldn't the player be able to rise up more and more (up to a certain maximum height) like in the original:
Hi, offsetting the camera is not a good idea. During development, I did it. However, this will heavily impact accuracy, as the projectile will not travel in a straight line towards the reticle, but cross it at some point. Along with the projectile gravity this would cause parallax at longer distance. Instead, what I did is offset the camera slightly above the player (not sure if that's also the case here).
