No need to touch the combat evolved install. If you don't have custom edition, then upon installing spv3 it will prompt you to install it, you can then follow the steps and enter your ce serial key. SPV3 will then install to its own directory keeping your combat evolved install untouched.

It could be due to a variety of reasons. For starters check that the resolution as set in the spv3 launcher is a supported resolution or your monitor resolution.

Probably a fluke. You can try a different source and see what happens.

We can't sell this game on steam even for free for legal reasons. You can however install halo custom edition and spv3 on linux using wine. Also spv3 is based on the original halo engine which was built for Xbox and Windows and is closed source, so we cannot port it to Linux natively even if we wanted to.

Halo custom edition is probably already installed on your system. To start that, use Halo Custom Edition shortcut from the start menu or desktop.

You have to find that yourself, due to legal reasons it's not allowed to share such stuff here.

You need halo custom edition. If you have original combat evolved on your pc then install halo custom edition using that same serial key. If you can't find custom edition don't worry spv3 installer already comes with it and will guide you through installing that before installing spv3 itself.

You can lower the quality of / disable some effects in the launcher. Motion blur itself isn't too demanding but it can screw up if the game lags.

You can find spv3 on your desktop and/or strtmenu. That will open the spv3 launcher.

Hi baker! You can ignore that message most of the times because it's an old engine, it freaks out upon detecting an "unknown" gpu. Also be sure to set the game to run on your high performance gpu explicitly in the gpu control panel.

Hi! Make sure you turn off all forced enhancements from your gpu control panel. Stuff like anti aliasing, texture filtering etc.

I'll definitely look into the possibility of having SMAA in the game. However, we did try it out in the past and there was an issue with shader size limit which is hardcoded by Bungie.

Hi! Jazz here. Clarrification. Ray Tracing as mentioned in the post is not the same as Nvidia's RTX Ray Tracing or DXR. We are using ray tracing (as a concept or algorithm) to render reflections from screen space data, it is a post processing effect unlike DXR. You won't need any special GPU with RT support.
