Alpha Project

Mod review

Alpha Project is definitely a great mod. There is so much stuff that this mod has to offer like new maps, new guns, new sounds, new animations, new HUD, and new vehicles!
There's even a customization section where you can change your gun and change the attachments on it (which is a really cool feature and something I've never seen before in a mod).

But, unfortunately this mod isn't perfect, and there are some bad things about it.

Crashes:

This mod unfortunately crashes way too much.
I'd be playing and having a good time and out of nowhere it would just close and send me to the desktop with no error message.
Some maps crash as you're loading them and some crash as soon as you spawn.

FPS drop:

My PC specs are good enough to run pretty much any mod without any frame issues. I can run both Project Reality and Forgotten Hope 2 without any issues. Alpha Project on the other hand for some odd reason likes to drop in frames on some maps. I don't know what causes it, but just know that this mod will probably not do so well on low end PCs.

The creator of this mod is unfortunately retired from modding, so all the bugs and crashes that are occurring will never be fixed.

Overall, this mod is great. For sure one of the best Battlefield 2 mods I've played. Everything about it is great other than the infamous bugs and crashes. If those were to be fixed, then this mod would be a solid 10/10 for me.
