The game loads up and a half of a second after the intro when u can see the half life 2 background, the game quits?!?

It opens up and shows the intro, then after the half life 2 menu loading, then it quits

When it starts up, it's just white, then after I hear the valve intro but a white screen, an error saying 'Could not find background image'.
