I haven’t given up on this mod by no means. I just love the concept, and from my tinkerings in BF 2 the feel of game turned very much as I hoped once I got some thing to work. None the less I have decided to cross over to Unreal III
I isn’t so much that this mod isn’t doable in BF2 its just the editor is a piece of %^&*, not that the game was. Why else would I be trying to mod it =P. And the editor support…or the lack there of, really majorly sucked. One of my biggest problems was import object polly limits of 15,000. I won’t bore you with the details.
What I wanted was real time normal mapping, displacement mapping and to create geometry in the editor among other things.
Anyway I am going Unreal 3 for 3 main reasons
1.It is one of the sickest engines I have ever seen. With all the advanced graphics **** to make my mod look awesome, to put it simply
2.I am far more adept at using UnrealEd 2.5 hence I assume UnrealEd 3.0 shouldn’t be to hard to pick up on despite every thing being built from ground up.
3.Unreal 2.5 is much more intuitive and easier to use than BF2 editor and I can only imagine UnrealEd 3.0 will be even better.
the only major down side will be that more adaptation will be required
