A budding musician in the world of video games. Instead of using sounds a la a live orchestra, however, my music is specialized in electronic tones reminiscient of Gary Numan and Brad Fiedel.

NeonXSZ is Out!

PythonBlue Blog

Check it out when you can!

Store.steampowered.com

This is a pretty big deal not only for me, but also for the main developer. Both of us are eager for thoughts about it, especially since it's an early access game, meaning that it's not finished with development, yet.

So, yeah, check out the game when you can!

This Friday, NeonXSZ, a game I composed music for and also beta tested the Mac builds of, will be officially available on Steam!

Those of you who missed the trailer for the game, here it is on YouTube.

Unfortunately, this also means that the game will finally be full price at that time at $20, so if you use Desura over Steam, be sure to buy it now while it's still discounted!

My work is not done for this project, however: evidently, if this becomes successful, it will have new updates and additions, much like Minecraft, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, its Steam page is here.

Finally back

PythonBlue Blog

I realize it's been over one and a half years since I updated my blog here. I spent much of that time, sadly, still worrying about what I'd be able to do for a living.

And then recently, I had an epiphany. Making music and assisting with game development can be fun, yes, but I've realized that all the competition and fame is just not worth pursuing as a career.

At this stage in time, while I'm back here, expect me to take it slower. If I get some money out of what I do, great, but I've decided not to depend on it because fat chance that that will happen enough times for a career.

In light of my only paid job, which isn't even related to games, nearing the end, I am getting desperate for other sources of income. I already have other projects I'm working on, all of which are either free or "royalty-based", so I regret to say that if you're interested in hiring me, I am only available for being paid upfront. I won't even charge much: a mere $25 per minute of music.

Here's a mod I finished the music for somewhat recently. The official soundtrack is in the lower link.

It happened....

PythonBlue Blog

I have finally finished music for one of my most intensive game music projects: Amnesia: The Great Work! Now, all that's left where I'm concerned is participation in beta-testing.

Now, the other projects, I have time to focus on more. XDD Here is the list, to remind myself as well as readers:

Rise from Ashes (an Amnesia mod)
Painful Shadows (Amnesia mods)
War of the Servers (a Source mod)
Lizard Cops (a YouTube animated series)
School of Insanity (a Portugese animation project by Camila Alli Chair)

And others which I may not have permission to disclose at this time....

Updates

PythonBlue Blog

Well, I seem to have lost my direction for a bit, resorting to indie synthwave instead of game music. Rest assured, I'm back on track, now.

That said, however, don't expect me to be as serious; I'm starting to realize that even IF I make money with my music (which is a huge if), I'll have to risk being a celebrity at the cost of my privacy.

Below are two videos showcasing my music for The Great Work.

Another update

PythonBlue Blog

Well, since my Indiegogo campaign is now finished, may as well update the blog.

There's finally some good news for those I'm working for: I dropped the most stressful class I have, thus resulting in significantly more free time to write music for you. Just last night, I had enough time to write something for The Great Work, though, sadly, I have yet to get the opinion of the head of the project.

Also, to Infinity Interactive, I apologize for my absence, though it appears it didn't make much of a difference at this time: there are few new posts on the forum. :P

Apologies for my absence; combined with classes, I had a serious depression for several days, partially as a result of jealousy over someone newer to game music who never had to work for free.

Anyway, I can't guarantee to Infinity Interactive OR Zenetech that I'll be able to do much quickly; I am a college student trying to get passing grades for my classes, most of which don't even interest me. On top of that, my financial situation is tight; I have a fundraiser going on Indiegogo in which the money will be spent preparing a CD release of one of my albums. That, and given game developers have more say than I do when it comes to instruments used, I need at least $500 real soon to purchase EWQLSO Gold Edition, probably more for the close mic position addon.

If anyone wants to help me out financially, they can either buy my music on Bandcamp or donate to my Indiegogo campaign below:

Thank you all for reading.

No internet?

PythonBlue Blog

As much as I hate to say this to everyone who follows me, it's partially true. I lost my internet at my house, and one thing this means is that I will likely not be able to upload any new music until Thursday. Apologies for any inconvenience to listeners and game designers.

Currenty, the only reason I can write this is because I'm elsewhere, specifically on campus at my other job.

That is all.

EDIT: Nevermind; it was fixed this afternoon, after all.

This is more of to remind myself than to remind my followers; there's a good chance I'll need to withdraw from at least one as I'm starting to worry that I'm sacrificing quality for speed.

Horizon*
The Great Work
Painful Shadows 2*
Rise from Ashes
Spacies*
School of Insanity (Escola da Insanidade)

The ones with asterisks don't fully count, as music either is not absolutely needed yet or is mostly finished, and all but the last one are Amnesia custom stories.

Looking at this list, I am still surprised how much of a load I volunteered for, though. As much as I hate to say it, given how much they all interest me, it's probably best I withdraw from at least one, at least until I have more time in my schedule, which is further complicated by offline events such as my other job.
